We know, we know… Christmas already?! 🎄🎄

But when you’re making something by hand, a little head start never hurts.

Christmas crafting is already beginning at Be Creative, with Alex working on a fabric village and Sue getting started on some festive redwork!

And they’re not the only signs that Christmas is creeping into the shop…

We’ve got festive fabrics, threads, advent calendar panels and Christmas charm squares arriving, with plenty of possibilities for quilts, decorations, framed pieces and smaller handmade projects. 🎅

So if you’ve been thinking about making something special this Christmas, now might actually be the perfect time to start.

Pop into Be Creative in Seaford to have a browse, get some inspiration or chat to us about what you’d like to make.

Have you started any Christmas crafting yet? 😄

A little peek at what’s been taking shape at Be Creative lately… ☺

From paper piecing to beautiful quilts, we love seeing everyone’s projects slowly come together, especially when there’s a story behind them. 💙

Hazel is usually busy making things for other people, but this time she’s working on a pink and purple paper-pieced quilt just for herself.

And there’s plenty more sewing, quilting, chatting and creating happening around the shop too.

We always love seeing what you’re working on, whether you’re just getting started or several months into a project. 🪡

Bondaweb or Wundaweb… what's actually the difference? 🤔

It's a question that can easily cause a little confusion when you're standing in front of the haberdashery!

While both use heat to bond materials, they're designed for different types of projects. 🪡

Wundaweb is a handy option for creating simple hems without sewing (think trousers, skirts or curtains). Bondaweb gives you more creative freedom, bonding pieces of fabric together for appliqué (think decorative shapes and other sewing and craft projects).

➡ Swipe through for our quick guide and save it for the next time you're wondering which one you need.

And if you're still unsure, pop into Be Creative in Seaford with your project or questions, we're always happy to help. ☺

The boxes are packed, the kits are coming together and we’re nearly ready! ☺️ 📦

We’ve been busy behind the scenes preparing lots of lovely sewing and crafting goodies to bring along to the SHQG Exhibition at Brighton Racecourse this weekend.

From messenger bag kits and embroidery projects to plenty of quilting thread, there’s lots packed up and ready to go. 🪡

Come and find us on 5th & 6th September, 10am to 4pm - we’d love to see some familiar faces (and meet some new ones too!). 😄

Whether you're joining your first workshop or you've been crafting for years, there's always something new to learn.

And yes... there is usually tea and biscuits involved too.
