Little Houndales Knits www.littlehoundalesknits.com Little Houndales Farm lies at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds and the land stretches up on to the top of the Wolds.

The farm is mixed, comprising arable, a suckler cow herd and sheep. Sheep are a family tradition and even when times have been hard and many farms have gone out of sheep, we have kept on with the family tradition and continued to keep about 60 Suffolk X. Every June, we clip the sheep to keep them cool over the summer months and we have masses of their beautiful fluffy wool. With my love of wool I

found it hard, having sheep on the farm and masses of lovely wool that I couldn’t knit! So, this year, I took the plunge and sent several of the fleece to a company which specialises in processing small amounts. Half of the batch has been spun as 100% pure wool and the other half we had mixed with 50% mohair and worsted to give a completely different texture to the finished yarn. The yarns are spun to Aran weight and are a lovely bright ivory which is their natural un-dyed colour. I have huge respect for this wonderful fibre our sheep produce and I love to knit in the knowledge that I am knitting natural fibres from happy contented sheep which are grazing the lush green grass of the Yorkshire Wolds while I knit their winter coats! I know that when you knit with this yarn you will fall in love with it like I have, I know I am slightly biased but as a knitter of over 30 years, trust me, it’s lovely to knit with! Little Houndales Farm has been a family run farm for over 70 years, Little Houndales Knits is a new venture, adding a new dimension. In addition to our own yarns we have now expanded to stock include Rowan, Debbie Bliss, Louisa Harding, Malabrigo, Lorna's Laces, Bergere de France, Millamia and Noro Yarns, Knitpro knitting needles and interchangeables and Artivia 'polka dot top' knitting needles. Also a selection of books and other accessories.

Little Zucco’s mum is a first time mum & was a little unsure so he was bottle fed for the first 12/18 hours until she got herself together. He’s now feeding from her- phew!!
