This wasn’t a quick make. And it shows.

A big statement pendant, made start to finish by one of my students in solid sterling silver. Every mark on it is hers: the hammered surface, the hand-coiled spirals, the raised silver granules, and that wire line running straight down the centre like a river cutting through rock.

She took her time. Came back week after week, kept building, kept pushing it further. This is what 10 weeks look like when you really commit to it.

And this is exactly what the studio is for. Not small. Not careful. Not the kind of thing that vanishes the second you put it on. Real silver, real weight, a staggeringly bold and beautiful piece with something to say.

The next 10-week term starts at the end of September. Come and make something that’s properly yours.

New drop. Brace yourself.

A flower with attitude. Oxidised petals around a cluster of hand-built silver granules, all sitting on a wide band pressed with leaf texture.

Bloom with teeth.

Sterling silver, made entirely by hand, one of one.

For the days you want to be seen.

Subtlety not included.

Five friends. First time at the bench. One half-day. Look what walked out of the studio 👀

Three bangles. Two pairs of earrings. Every piece hammered, shaped and finished by hands that had never touched a workbench before yesterday morning.

This is what “beginner” actually looks like. Not timid. Not fragile. Sterling silver, made with grit, worn with intent.

You don’t need a background in metalwork. You don’t need permission. You need half a day and the nerve to show up.

Half-day workshops are open now. Grab a friend. Make something by you, for you.

Big news. The brilliant is now stocking my jewellery 🖤

If you haven’t been, go. This Ticehurst gem is packed with work from local makers: ceramics, art, clothing, candles, cards, soft furnishings and now a little something from me. Huzzah!

Meet Tethys.

While Zeus, Poseidon, Athena and Apollo took all the headlines back in the day, Tethys got quietly written out.

But she came before them and every river that runs to the sea, every tide that pulls at the shoreline and every freshwater spring belonged to her. She mothered them all.

This huge Labradorite holds her colours: deep blue, storm grey, the green of water you can’t see the bottom of. A whole ocean condensed into a stone, set in silver that looks like it’s been on the seabed for centuries.

One of one. Hallmarked.

She’s built to be worn and whispered about.

A fallout scene from the bench.

Silver and gold at the centre of it, polished to a shine that took a while…

Commissions from this studio aren’t born clean. They’re hauled out of mess and chaos and handed to you finished.

That’s the deal. That’s the craft.

Molten silver meets cold water.

This is water casting.

Pouring liquid sterling silver straight into water and letting physics do the design work.

You get what you get. You make peace with it.

Then those wild little forms were soldered onto a bangle, and tube-set with a tiny stone right in the heart of each one. Chaos meets precision.

And the maker? One of my students. Made entirely on the bench in class.

This is the stuff I love watching happen! When someone experiments with the metal and throws caution to the wind (safely, of course 😵‍💫).The results speak for themselves.

Look what bloomed in class 🌸

Three abstract florals. All sterling silver. All hand-pierced by one of my brilliant students and honestly, I’m in awe!

This is what happens when you pick up a piercing saw, trust the process and make something nobody else on earth could’ve made.

No two petals the same. No tutorial could teach this. Just hours of patience, a sharp blade and the quiet kind of bravery that turns a flat sheet of silver into something properly alive.

This is why I love my job 🖤
