Weald is based in the picturesque Kent countryside, here our team craft bespoke wine coolers and fridges that are high in quality and timeless in design.

Established by John Burgess in 1969, Weald is a family business, with experience and craftsmanship passed down through the generations.

Pictured here is Chris Burgess, John’s son, who is now our Managing Director. Chris is committed to driving the company forward with big plans to continue improving our manufacturing processes, and the quality and sustainability of the parts used in the construction of our wine coolers.

Did you know that Weald Refrigeration was started in 1962?

John Burgess (pictured) was apprenticed as a refrigeration engineer in the early sixties straight from school.

He astutely recognised a gap in the market delivering kitchen fridges to pubs and decided to start making back bar bottle cabinets for the pub and bar industry himself.

The rest, as they say, is history.

A private client came to us to create this sublime wine room to showcase their collection.

Our client had almost completed the development of a party room in their beautiful home and wanted a wine cooler that would highlight, rather than obscure the stunning brickwork.

The units were manufactured in our factory in Kent using Colourtex Gold Pegasus sheets for the doors, top panels and base grille and Rimex Colourtex Mirror Gold for the sides and interior. They are also gold effect top and tailed and have top-and-tailed horizontal shelves.

With each wine cooler temperature settable between +2°C and +24°C they can be used for red wines, white wines and champagne, as well as for bringing wines on. The efficient cooling systems within each unit bring peace of mind; you know that if you set the unit to a specific temperature, the liquid in every bottle will be within ± 1°C of the set point.

Our client was delighted with the final result and we think you’ll agree that these units are something truly stunning to behold and fit perfectly within the chic, but cosy party environment that our client has created.

Our bespoke wine cooler temperatures are adjustable and kept completely stable so you can be safe in the knowledge that your wine will be kept at the optimum temperature at all times.

All of our wine coolers come with microprocessor control that allows you to set the temperatures between +3°C and +24°C and be confident that all the bottles inside will be within one degree of the set point.

We can also provide cabinets with dual temperature zones to allow you to store wines with different storage requirements within the same cooler.
