Let me transform your home! Let’s go from ‘Drab to Fab!’ With my design and decorate services.

This room has been ‘Colour Drenched’ - a designer term for painting lots of fittings in the room the same colour, this project I painted:
- The bedframe
- The wardrobes
- The walls and ceiling
- All woodwork

All in a single colour ( Elephants Breath ) to give a harmonious feel.

I then went shopping with the client ( who had decided to declutter too!) and I selected new items for the room including plants, lamps and a new bedside table.

‘I don’t want new cushions!’ 😁

That was how the conversation started with one of my regular clients. They mentioned that they know I love colour but they ‘just want off white walls’ 🙁

If you are one of my followers you will probably know this goes against the grain with me, but I will interject personality into this room somehow!

After removing the wallpaper and minor repairs, painting the whole room, the next part was obviously staging ( the best bit!) so I took the client shopping, after an hour in one shop they said they thoroughly enjoyed the experience and then they took me to another store - remember they were adamant that they didnt want anything😝👍.

I had previously ‘found’ some interesting pieces scattered around their home, and used these to create a monochrome theme with touches of natural colours and a brilliant splash of colour with the second shop of cushions ( remember they didnt want any). Note that during the process a new floor was installed too!

Between us i think the room is now understated elegance with some very cool pieces.

‘Resistance is futile’ should really be my tagline 🤣

“NO! I don’t want black!”

That was how the consultation was when the clients and me sat down on deck chairs facing the green and red summer house - with a beer 😜

During the chat, I found out that they had a love for everything 1920’s.

They left to go on holiday to have a surpise on their return .

Drafting in the help of local ‘fix it’ guy ‘Rod Lear’ and his brother, to fix the leaking roof, re-align the doors and removing the ugly brace pieces of wood over the entrance ( and discreetly re strengthen) we also added 2 ‘20’s inspired’ wall lights and I added the festoon lighting.

Using a weather proof paint ‘bedec’ ( which lasts up to 15 years) in both gold and black, the transformation was almost complete.

Then the 3 ‘sunbeam’ iconic shapes, crafted from wood were added as a nod to the 1920’s.

Once a summerhouse, it has now lovingly been renamed ‘The Pavillion’

This is how the story went with this project. 😁

📹The client text me and sent me a video of her 6 year old sons room, but had no idea of what to do for him.

🛏️Conscious of giving the room ‘longevity’ I suggested my ‘signature stripes’ which could be colour matched to a new quilt for example.

🐘She purchased the quilt, and I matched the colours but first ‘colour drenched’ the room in a lovely base colour ( elephants breath) but i had it mixed into ‘Crown Clean Extreme’ - this paint is extremely durable and can actually be scrubbed.

🎨So with the contemporary design and the durable paint, the room will see him into his early teens.

💡I painted the headboard and the storage blocks to match them with the room and purchased a new light fitting which had a more modern look.

Room colour drenched in ‘Elephants Breath’ - this colour is enjoying a huge revival as trends move away from grey to muted natural tones and blues & greens.

This project is to give a 6 year old boy a grown up bedroom with hand painted stripes inspired by a quilt cover.

I had better get on with it! 😁👨‍🎨🎨
