Outside of glassing, one of my other joys in life is running, and I love to do parkrun, either as a runner or volunteer.

My latest piece was a gift for the gorgeous Jo, event director at Graves parkrun, where she recently reached her 500 volunteer milestone! It’s an amazing achievement and shows real dedication and commitment, and I felt it needed marking in glass. 😊

This panel is of Graves Park with the parkrun sign which marks the start line, and Jo’s dog Holly who spends her Saturdays getting volunteers to kick her ball over and over again 😁

Parkrun really is the best start to the weekend, and if anyone has been thinking about doing it but not got round to it, I strongly encourage you to give it a go, it’s the best!

Now back to my enormous garden commission! 🌼

It’s been so lovely to see some blue sky this week, and it feels like Winter might finally be over. Sadly the sun went in when I went outside to take a picture of this week's make, but it's still good to see a bit of light through these vibrant colours.

This rainbow is going to a family who have had an incredibly difficult time, and I hope it will remind them that there are brighter times ahead.

One of the disadvantages of being in a wonderful glass studio every week is seeing all the beautiful sheets of glass and getting tempted to buy them.

I couldn’t justify buying this one (it was very expensive!), but once I saw it I couldn’t resist it. I’m normally very good at not succumbing to temptation and only buying glass I specifically need, but this was an exception. I mean, just look at those colours 🌈😍

I have no idea what I am going to do with it, it’s so beautiful I’m too scared to cut it up! But what should I use it for? 🤔 Any suggestions welcome!

I had a lovely day teaching a tiffany glass workshop today! Great group of enthusiastic students who asked lots of questions, and they produced some really lovely pieces too!

If you're interested in trying stained glass for yourself, there are spaces at my Wednesday evening class starting 15 April at Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet. Classes run for 10 weeks and are great for beginners and returners alike. We will cover the tiffany and traditional lead techniques, with an opportunity to do a project of your choosing. It's friendly and informal, and I will even make you cups of tea too. ☺️

Details on the link in the comments - if you'd like to book a place, just send an email to [email protected] 👍

A bit of nostalgia today! This is my landing window, and is one of the first larger pieces I made while I was still attending classes at Martin McAssey Glass. It remains one of my favourite things I’ve ever made. It makes the most beautiful reflections on the wall when the sun shines through it, and it makes me smile every time I look at it ❤️
