That's Clay Club — my studio at The Atelier in North Anston. Everyone comes in the same way: two sessions, a week apart. You build your house in the first, glaze it in the second, and I fire it for you. Clay, glazes, every tool on the table and both firings are included, and you need no experience whatsoever.

Then the whole place is open to you — the wheel, the glazes, every tool, and Bertha to fire whatever you make. Pay as you go: £35 for one session, £60 for two, £100 for four. No contracts, nothing to cancel, no monthly anything. That's the real offer. The two evenings are just how you find out whether you love it and whether you would like to make your own projects.

Autumn dates for the introductory workshops— mornings 10am–1pm or evenings 6pm–9pm:
• Thursdays 10 & 17 September
• Wednesdays 16 & 23 September
• Thursdays 24 September & 1 October

Can't manage two weeks running? That's fine — we're flexible here at Clay Club. Have a word with me on the night and we'll put your second session whenever suits you.

Start in September and your piece is home before Halloween.

Wednesday night at The Atelier.

Five people, a glass of wine or a bottle of beer each, and five little clay houses that will glow once they're fired. Genuinely my favourite three hours of the week.

New Clay Club dates are up for September and October:

Mornings 10am–1pm or evenings 6pm–9pm.

It's easier to book now, too. £60 for the two weeks with everything included — clay, tools, glazes, both firings — but just £10 to hold your place, and the rest on the night.

And the two weeks are really a taster. If you catch the bug, the whole of The Atelier opens up to you: the clay and the glazes, every tool on the table, the wheel, and Bertha to fire whatever you make. You can take pottery up properly without owning a kiln, or anywhere to make a mess. You just pay as you go.

Can't do a Wednesday or a Thursday? Message me. If there are two or three of you I'll put a date on that suits you instead — I've done it before now.

Meet Bertha 🔥 And Herbert beside her — nine years, and he's never let me down.

The hard part of pottery isn't the pottery. It's that nobody has the space for a kiln. So come and use mine.

Clay Club starts with a two-week workshop, and that's deliberate — think of it as a get-to-know-you. You, me, the clay and the kiln. You'll make your own glowing tea light house, learn glazing, see how the kiln works and have a go on the wheel. You collect it the week after, finished.

After that the studio is open to you. No contracts, no subscription — you buy the sessions you want:

1 session £35 · 2 sessions £60 · 4 sessions £100

Wednesdays, 10am–1pm or 6pm–9pm. All the clay, glazes and tools included, full use of the wheel and the kiln — and once you've done the two weeks, you make whatever you like.

I provide the facilities. You provide the imagination.
