Jeden Tag Action auf dem INTERSCHUTZ Messestand 💪

Last week at INTERSCHUTZ in Hanover - the world’s leading trade fair for the fire and rescue services, civil protection and safety, with the next show scheduled for 2030 -Alex Jackson and Gareth Andrews spent time with the team from our German partner ELSPRO Elektrotechnik GmbH & Co. KG sharing an early look at a new Wolf torch currently in development.

We are not quite ready to reveal it yet, but this new product has been shaped by something very important to us: real feedback from the people who will use it, specify it and support it in the field.

Working closely with Elspro in Germany and a major UK Fire Brigade, our team has been listening carefully to what customers and end-users need from the next generation of portable lighting.

Sessions like this are a great reminder that product development is rarely done in isolation. The best ideas come from collaboration, practical experience and honest feedback from the people closest to the application.

More to follow soon.

It was a pleasure to support the unveiling of the first River Sheaf Lightwell at Sheffield Station on Thursday 28 May – a fantastic project bringing one of Sheffield’s hidden rivers back into public view.

Wolf Safety was pleased to provide portable lighting for the event, helping visitors at the unveiling to look down into the Lightwell and experience the River Sheaf and Porter Brook below. While bright conditions limited the impact on the day, we were proud to play a small part in enabling people to connect with this unique space.

As a Sheffield-based manufacturer located alongside the River Sheaf, we are strong supporters of the Sheaf & Porter Rivers Trust and their ongoing work to “daylight” and re-naturalise these historic waterways.

Projects like this not only celebrate the city’s industrial heritage but also contribute to its environmental future—and we’re delighted to support that journey.

Wolf Safety has been based beside the River Sheaf in Sheffield since 1933, and our connection with this part of the city goes far beyond our factory walls.

Following a recent interview with our Managing Director, Alex Jackson, in Now Then Magazine, our latest blog reflects on Wolf’s long-standing relationship with the River Sheaf and the sense of stewardship that comes from being part of the same local environment for so many decades.

The blog looks at how Wolf has helped care for the riverside area near our Saxon Road site, from maintaining the riverbank and supporting litter and debris clearance, to planting native British tree varieties and working with Riverlution to help improve the local watercourse.

Sheffield’s rivers are part of the city’s industrial history, but they are also part of its future — supporting wildlife, improving local surroundings and helping create better places for people to live and work.

It was great to meet up with our friends and long-standing partner Technotrading Schiedam BV in the Netherlands last week.

Visits like this are always a good opportunity to catch up properly, talk through current opportunities, and look ahead to what is coming next. This time, there was also the chance to present a preview of an exciting new product that will be launching soon.

Graeme Aittis is on the left, Jeroen van Waveren is on the right... but who is in the middle? Football fans may have an advantage. Let us know your guess in the comments.
