A reflection on my post yesterday. 2 take home messages:
1) solidarity is strong in this sector. Some of the best friends I had I met because we were stood next to each other for a day or two and it truly is a COMMUNITY!
2) while things are scary, let’s normalise talking about them…let’s not pretend everything is ok and let’s not filter our lives to pretend they are perfect because someone else might really benefit from your honesty

Wow guys…it’s been a tough year.
1) I recently lost my textile printers…this was 90% of my business and where I got ALL of my fabric printed. A sign of the times but I have sourced a new printers and I am in the process of resampling everything.
2) fairs…I really rely on fairs and it’s been so tough getting onto events, there’s a lot of makers out there for not many event places. It’s always tough but there’s some great events I used to do regularly that I never get on now and after which I’m gong to in just under 2 weeks I have an event drought…it’s going to be a long hard summer and autumn! I only have a couple of events confirmed for winter too!
3) wholesale…with so many shops closing I lost so may go my old stockists and it’s more and more difficult to pick up new ones with all the temp trash that’s on my wholesale websites!
4) online…I honestly thought my online shops were not working. I’ve had a few recent orders and THANK YOU!! YOU ARE AMAZING for continuing to support me! I had to actually pay Etsy last month rather than the pay me ✌🏻 so that’s not good!
5) the state of the world… it’s bleak guys and has is on the rise! As a gay man it’s a daunting world and I’ve never felt less safe (and I have never felt unsafe in Sheffield before!)
It’s not all bad though…I’m SO excited to be heading to next week, it’s my happy place and I love being with so many amazing an creative folk so come see me and spend some money ❤️
you for you on going support - I love you guys and if you feel the same…things will get better, stick in there ❤️

I’m back at in just a few weeks and I’m sharing some throwback photos from over the years- you can see that a few staples have remained but every year there have been new additions and some slight variations in display! This year will look fairly different with a smaller, more compact stand.
Which is your favourite?

It’s been a week of highs and lows. Last week I found out that my fabric printers had gone bust! This might not seem the worst news as there are other printers to use but I had such a great relationship with my printers and it will be incredibly expensive to resample everything! It does maybe provide an opportunity to upskill myself and bring some of my manufacturing more in house! .
If anyone has any recommendations for textile printers please let me know!
On a positive my day job has been good and I’ve been successful in bringing in a grant to the university which I’m really proud of. In addition it’s really exciting research that I’m excited to work on over the coming year!
These things are sent to try us!!

All set up at Attenborough Arts Centre in Leicester - we’re open 11-4 so do t hang about, get down quick!
