Had a lovely old time painting this gorgeous face. Started well…then ruined everything. Then it got a bit better. Then I realised I needed to stop fannying about with it. Still struggling massively with perspective, noses and skin tone. Thankful for much needed time out of my brain and switching off from the madness and sadness.

27 years ago I left Uni. That number doesn’t feel possible to me, but it is. A few weeks ago my Uni friends came to stay. And one of them bought me tulips. Such a bloody wonderful weekend. So I had a go at painting them, the tulips that is.

Sat with a cuppa. Talking to one of my kids after school….started copying the image from the front of my pad as we chatted. Turned out far prettier than anything I’d tried really hard at earlier that day. Not enough hours in the day to create recently…despite January being 538 days long…. These birds will forever be known as Felingos in our house…my youngest was obsessed with them long before she could pronounce their name 🦩🦩
