Penny Street

Penny Street Penny Street opens the doors to time-travelled collectables from antique, retro, vintage and all eras in between.

There is something unusual and intriguing in these items that seek the company of an appreciative soul with a discerning eye for detail, style, charm and beauty. A likely heirloom that can realise value into the future – and passed on yet again to a new generation.

Fleabite - Jingle bells! Actually a small collection of Crotal or Rumbler bells. The smaller ones would likely have been attached to animals as a way of tracking them across the landscape. Bells of more extreme size were likely fitted to wagons to warn other horse-drawn vehicle users of their approach. The large one in this photo measures 5" across and is a beautifully crafted example from a Wiltshire foundry dating back to the 18th century. 🔔🔔
