Making every bit of space count.

A recent bespoke under-stairs storage project completed by Interior Developments.

Designed and made to follow the exact pitch of the staircase, with made-to-measure Shaker doors giving a clean, fitted finish.

Behind the doors we’ve made full use of what would otherwise be wasted space, with a combination of shelving and larger storage areas.

Everything made to measure and fitted neatly around the existing staircase.

✨ Recent kitchen transformation completed

This project came to us after the customers had unfortunately been badly let down by previous building work, with a number of issues that simply weren’t up to standard and needed putting right before we could move forward.

So this became much more than just fitting a new kitchen.

We stripped things back, rectified the previous work and took the project through properly from the structural stages to the finished room.

The work included:

• Installation of a new RSJ
• Creating a new double-door opening
• Insulated warm wall across the external wall
• Plastering
• Part P electrical work
• Second-fix joinery
• New flooring throughout
• Full kitchen installation and finishing

The finished kitchen combines sleek blue/grey cabinetry with warm oak-effect units and a large island/breakfast bar, completely transforming the space.

Most importantly, after the experience they’d previously had, it was great to be able to get the project back on track and leave the customers with the kitchen and finish they should have had in the first place.

Today’s job involved removing a steel beam that had clearly been installed using the highly regarded “that’ll do” engineering method.

The only problem? It bore very little resemblance to what the structural engineer had actually specified.

We’ve removed it, installed the correct steel exactly as designed, and the job is now back to how it should have been in the first place.

This is why cutting corners on structural work is never worth it. A steel beam isn’t somewhere to get creative or save a few quid. If an engineer has gone to the trouble of calculating and specifying it, there’s usually a good reason.

Another one put right. Hopefully the previous installer sticks to flat-pack furniture in future. 😏

Next Job is to prep for the plasterers and then we’re on with the kitchen install 🔥

🏡 Unused space transformed into over 2 metres of bespoke storage…

This under-stairs area was previously an awkward, wasted space. It’s now home to:

✅ Full height storage cupboards
✅ Custom angled drawers designed to maximise every inch of available space
✅ Made-to-measure fitment with scribed panels for a seamless built-in finish
✅ Designed, CNC manufactured and installed by us here in West Yorkshire

The clever part of this project is the angled drawer design, allowing us to make use of space that would normally be lost in a conventional under-stairs installation.

To keep the project within the customer’s budget, the internal carcasses were manufactured from high quality moisture resistant MDF and professionally finished, allowing the investment to be focused on the areas that matter most — functionality, storage capacity and the finished appearance.

Every under-stairs space is different, which means every installation is designed and manufactured specifically for your home.

If you’ve got an under-stairs cupboard full of coats, shoes, hoovers and things you can never find when you need them, it might be time to put that space to work.

Another completed en-suite, another happy customer.

It’s easy to overlook an en-suite because of its size, but getting a compact room right takes just as much planning and attention to detail as a larger bathroom.

For this project, the aim was to create a clean, modern space that feels open, practical and built to last.

✔️ Walk-in shower with matt black enclosure
✔️ Contemporary vanity unit and countertop basin
✔️ Large-format porcelain tiles
✔️ Matt black rainfall shower and fittings
✔️ Finished to a high standard throughout

I’ve been fitting bathrooms for over 30 years, and one thing has never changed – I treat every job as if it were in my own home. No shortcuts, no rushed finishes, just quality workmanship and pride in the end result.

If you’re thinking about updating your en-suite, whether it’s a complete renovation or replacing an outdated suite, I’d be happy to help.

🚿 When a bath becomes a barrier… you don’t always need a whole new bathroom.

We originally fitted this bathroom 8 years ago — and recently returned when the customer, now 83 years young, was struggling to safely get in and out of the bath.

Rather than pushing for an expensive full replacement, we offered a simple, practical solution:

✅ Bath removed
✅ Low level shower tray fitted
✅ Easy access glass screen installed
✅ Existing bathroom kept where possible

A safer, easier bathroom without the stress, mess or cost of starting again.

Sadly many people are pressured into expensive “mobility bathroom” packages when sometimes all that’s needed is honest advice and a quality alteration.

With Interior Developments, you deal directly with an experienced local tradesman — not a salesperson.

🔨 Over 25 years experience

If you, a parent, or a family member is finding the bath difficult to use, feel free to get in touch for friendly advice.

🔨 30 YEARS IN THE MAKING 🔨

At 18 years old I started my apprenticeship, learning joinery and cabinet making the traditional way — on the tools, from experienced tradesmen, building things properly.

30 years later, that same attention to detail still goes into every project.

The industry has changed. Tools have changed. Technology has changed.

But quality workmanship hasn’t.

Today Interior Developments combines decades of hands-on experience with modern CNC manufacturing, precision machinery and a fully equipped workshop to create truly bespoke interiors.
