A little treasure hunting, a lot of dodging storms! 🌧️🙈

What a week! I can’t say it’s been the best for sourcing treasures, but I did manage to unearth a few little gems before having to beat a hasty retreat and hide from Storms Austen and Bóeló! 😂

I have to confess, the first storms of the year always make me a little anxious. It’s the WIND! The rain I can cope with… well, up to a point! Anyone else feel the same, or is it just me? 🙈

I hope you’ve escaped the worst of the weather and haven’t been too badly affected.

Anyway, hopefully this week’s Show & Tell will provide a little distraction from all the wild weather! I’ve found some lovely bits and bobs to share, and I have to say, I absolutely love the bunting with its lovely, warm summer vibes. ☀️ Why does summer suddenly feel like such a long time ago?!

🍞 Calling all kitchenalia lovers… tell me I’m not the only one! 🤎

Today's Show & Tell seems to have taken a bit of a kitchen theme, which suits me just fine because kitchenalia has always been my first love!

Who doesn’t love the rustic charm of a well-used carved bread board or a bundle of old wooden spoons? Just me? 😂 There’s something about these simple, everyday vintage pieces that I just can’t resist.

On a slightly less exciting note, it was so cold out this morning that I had to dig my woolly hat out! I think we can safely say those chilly autumn mornings are here to stay. 🥶🍂

✨ Saturday seems to come around quickly, doesn’t it?!

It’s time for this week’s Show & Tell, with a few lovely little collections, some usual one-off vintage treasures, and a couple of hidden gems I couldn’t resist! 🧡

It wasn’t the best week out there, but it certainly wasn’t the worst either… and I did manage to find a few special decorative antique pieces that I’ve tucked away for our Winter at the Glasshouse Fair! ❄️✨

Sentimental old fool chit-chat incoming… 🥹

I nearly walked straight past this wonderful old portfolio at the market recently… and I’m SO glad I didn’t.

I only had a quick little look through it at the time, but when I got home and took a proper look, I realised what I’d found.

A beautiful collection of vintage watercolour paintings, all painted by the same artist — G. F. Warren.

Many are dated, and some even have little notes saying where they were painted. I absolutely love that. Tiny glimpses into someone’s life, captured in watercolour and carefully kept together all these years later. 🤍

But the painting at the very end of this reel really got me.

I couldn’t properly read the little note when I first saw it because, honestly, it choked me up.

Maybe I’m just a sentimental old fool… 😂🥹

“Back from the Lakes and straight back to it… because there’s no rest for the wicked! 😂”

After a lovely week away in the Lakes, we’ve hit the ground running. I headed out on a couple of buying trips as soon as we got home, while Paul’s been busy in the workshop and behind the camera.

The buying wasn't the best to say the least but I did manage to dig deep into a couple of boxes and uncover a few little gems.

The French glasses are definitely my favourites — and apologies again to any French speakers who were offended by my pronunciation! 🫣😂

This week’s sourcing adventures were mainly carried out in the rain… or dodging it! ☔️

But I definitely didn’t come home empty handed, as you can see!

I think my favourite finds this week have to be the horticulture vase — if I can actually get the word out! 😂 It’s amazing how much harder it is to say when you’re in front of a camera!

And the wooden numbers… anything with a more rustic feel goes to the top of my favourites list.

I’ve also been busy topping up the website before we head off for a week in the Lake District — climbing mountains, breathing in some fresh air and hopefully recharging the batteries. 🏔️

So, not too shabby a Show and Tell despite the weather even if I do say so myself.

STOP SCROLLING if you’d like to see my favourite find from last week — and listen to me waffle on about why I love it so much. 😂

Because sometimes, it really is the simplest things that bring the most joy.

You know the sort…

Found at the bottom of an old box, covered in cobwebs, smelling of old damp sheds and decades gone by. 🤎

Something that was made to be used, made to last, and clearly made with a little bit of love.

And I absolutely adore that.

There’s just something about finding an everyday object with a bit of history to it. Something that’s been quietly doing its job for years and has somehow survived to end up in my hands.

So, I’m thinking… should this become a thing?

It’s that time of the week again…✨

Where has the week gone? I think I do say that every week! Maybe it's the slight change in the season but it does feel like its shot by!

And the mornings are definitely getting chiller now… which means I’ve had to admit defeat and finally give up the sandals. 😭😂 Goodbye bare toes, it was good while it lasted!

This week I found some absolute beauties, including these rather gorgeous little blue drawers. 💙 They’re small, charming and full of character… although, as I say in the reel, they fit bu**er all. 😂 But sometimes a treasure doesn’t have to be practical — it just has to be pretty!

And I found true gems in this week’s finds that I haven’t even shown you yet… I thought they deserved a post of their own, and they need to be decobwebbed too, so they will get their time in the spot light early next week. I hope you love them as much as I do?!

It’s Show & Tell time again! 🥰

I can’t quite believe it’s the end of another week already. It’s been a busy one, with a few early start!

It’s definitely starting to feel like autumn now — those early mornings are getting darker and there’s a definite chill in the air. The getting up in the dark always feel completely worthwhile when I find lovely treasures and I’ve found some real gems this week. 😍

Paul’s been busy too, processing some of my finds and getting them ready for the website, so some of this week’s things are already available over there if you fancy having a look.

Anyway… you know the drill! Grab a cuppa, or something stronger - it is the weekend after all!🥂☕️

Rain stopped play today, so no treasure hunting for me this morning! ☔️ But luckily, I did manage to get out and about earlier in the week — and I found some absolute little gems.
