Today is the day;

We’d love to see you at the Dedham Assembly Rooms today from 10-4pm
The exhibition is free to visit and a warm welcome awaits you.

Our last introduction is Carol;

Using fine line pen and ink, she embellishes her work with intricate doodles, creating beautiful flowers and whimsical make-believe animals. Passionate about sustainability and creativity, Carol also enjoys encouraging others to explore the artistic possibilities of recycled materials and the fun of doodling by holding classes and giving talks.

With only a day to go until our exhibition is open to the public, today we are introducing another of our artists;

Chris is a self-taught canal artist who has been creating and teaching traditional canal art since the mid-1990s. Inspired by the Birmingham and Braunston styles, he works in the historic colours and techniques of the waterways, painting mainly on reclaimed, recycled, and repurposed objects, as well as genuine canal artefacts. His work ranges from decorated water cans, jugs, and lamps to several fully painted narrowboats, helping to preserve and celebrate the rich folk-art heritage of Britain's canals.

Just a few days to go until our exhibition in Dedham, today we are introducing;

Ali has been crafting for over 60 years. Inspired early on by her mother’s sewing, where she helped by cutting out the fabric pieces for her, she developed a lifelong love of making and bought her first sewing machine at the age of 20.
Ali enjoys making appliqué Christmas stockings, which she finds both creative and therapeutic. Her other interests include machine
embroidery, quilting, jewellery making, woodwork and baking.
The name Marmalade Cat reflects her love of cats and her passion for handmade craftsmanship.

Introducing;

Peter Haddock began his woodturning journey in retirement after
purchasing a second-hand lathe, quickly discovering a natural talent for identifying unusual and characterful pieces of timber. As his interest deepened, he upgraded his equipment and expanded his practice to include epoxy resin, exploring how the two materials could
complement one another. Today, Peter is known for his distinctive mixed wood-and-resin pieces, where organic grain patterns meet
contemporary forms. His work highlights the individuality of each piece of wood, celebrating its natural beauty while pushing creative
boundaries through thoughtful experimentation.

Sarah Atkinson is the imaginative spirit behind Beach Hut Crafts, a
delightful practice born in her cosy seaside beach hut. What started as a simple hobby quickly blossomed into a vibrant world of needle-felted characters, where quirky beasts, mermaids, and other mystical figures come to life with colour, texture, and personality. Her playful
storytelling through fibre shines brightly in the Tiny Fluff Collective, a miniature cast of expressive needle-felted creations that has captured the hearts and imaginations of many.

In less than two weeks our exciting showcase of original arts and crafts will be on display in Dedham. It’s time to introduce you to the members of Peninsula Crafts who will be exhibiting:

Emily Hooper-Greenhill is a Suffolk native whose creative practice began with handmade cards, combining a variety of techniques in playful, mixed-media designs. While crafting tiny, beaded embellishments for her cards, she discovered a passion for miniature beadwork — particularly animals and festive decorations — which quickly grew into a dedicated art form. Today, Emily focuses primarily on intricate beaded miniatures, creating charming, gift-sized pieces that have become a hallmark of her work. Her creations can be found in her Etsy shop and at shows across Suffolk, where she shares her evolving collection with local audiences
