A patriotic embroidered sampler, produced by a young girl in 1941, at the height of World War II.

Recently framed in a solid oak, lambs-tongue profile frame, oak glass spacers & AR70 anti-reflctve glass.

The embroidery reads;

'Empire and Motherland
In common cause together stand
Fighting on land, air and sea
To conquer or die for victory!'

Delighted to have been approached by local artist Richard Edwards. Artist to ask if we would be interested in displaying a collection of his interesting artworks depicting images of 'Shrewsbury & Beyond'

Of course, the answer was a resounding yes!, so we now have several original watercolours & Ltd Ed signed prints on view.

I've admired this local artist's work on 'Facebook' for quite a while now, so was excited to see one of his original paintings in the flesh for the first time, when a returning client brought their recent purchase in for framing - 'The Town Square', by Richard Edwards. Artist depicting his Lowery-esque view of Shrewsbury's historic Old Market Hall.

The customer knew exactly what he wanted, from the exact outside measurements of the frame, the frame profile shape and the colour it needed to be painted, as well as the mountboard name, and the use of the all important anti-reflective glass, for absolute clarity.

They were as happy with the result as we were producing it.

Honoured to be asked by RAF Shawbury to frame this incredible original ' ' jumpsuit, donated by Squadron leader Tom Handsford of the world famous RAF Acrobatic Team, to be sold at RAF Shawbury's Proms Charity auction. The jumpsuit has been initalled by each member of the flight team.

The jump suit has a cut to size foam board insert placed inside before being sewn on to an off-white undermount, within a black finish, deep wooden box frame (Arken moulding by ). No glues or tapes are used, so the suit can be removed intact, should the buyer want to live out a dream of wearing the Red Arrow's jumpsuit!

A visit to an open day at Loughborough University, has given me a chance to check on the printmaking studio of the fine art course I graduated from 30 years ago - first time back so glad to see very little has changed.

We were hoping this colourful fellow would be hanging around the shop for a while, but, understandably, the customer was eager to collect and was here within half an hour of us telling him it was ready!

'The Energy of the Moment takes us through the Night' Ltd Ed (21/50) signed print by flush framed in a matt black square profile wooden box frame, with black glass spacers & Anti-reflective glass  - to match other works we've framed in the customer's ever growing collection of contemporary artworks.
