Walking my daughter down the aisle on a beautiful, sunlit September morning was a deeply proud moment that I will cherish forever.
Beyond the joy of being the mother of the bride, I also had the pleasure of designing and my daughter’s wedding flowers. Drawing on my endless love, immense pride and a great deal of reflection on years gone by in order to create something very special and meaningful to Jessica and Alastair.
Flowers and foliage portrayed a natural, joyous celebration of the changing seasons, rooted in the rural life they share together. As well as recognising the ending of the summer season and a nod towards the gentle warmth of autumn.
Delicate jasmine weaved and tumbled through the bouquet, alongside locally grown dahlias which bought depth and rich summer tones. Fragrant English roses, including Juliet and Edith, were chosen linking to great grandparents names. The bouquet was open, free flowing and perfectly mirrored the botanical details embroidered on the gorgeous French lace of the wedding dress.
