We are lucky enough to handle and view some of the most beautifully cut glass, both antique and modern from around the world. We have an extensive glass graveyard where unfortunate pieces haven’t made it through the passage of time, and a glass library of historical pieces with excellent display of ex*****on, for us it’s an education and inspiration on how to reproduce and also to adapt patterns to create new fresh designs. If you didn’t know Wilkinson can repair, reproduce (to almost exact antique glass and cutting) and create new designs to your specifications we employ some of the most experienced glass blowers and glass cutters in the industry, to bring you the very best in both quality and refinement.
The featured photo is of a small early 19th century diamond cut, banded dish and is one part of a three part bonbonniere (sweet jar) displaying a darkened grey tinge to the glass, imperfections and clearly visible “shelf wear” to the base, all to be expected from this period of glass production possibly Irish in origin.
