IMPORTANT UPDATE

Over the last few weeks I've debated at great length over the Christmas Market. As most of you know, I'm awaiting a total hip replacement. My hip function is now deteriorating rapidly; I now use a walking stick all the time, and can only walk short distances.

I did post out for volunteers to help with the lifting and lugging about on the day, and I am extremely grateful to those who did volunteer. Unfortunately, the volunteer who was going to do all the set up and lifting on the day has just told me he has his own new health issues and won't be able to help. As such, with a very heavy heart, I've made the decision to cancel the Christmas Market this year.

I am absolutely determined that the market will continue next year, once I've had my hip surgery, so please do keep an eye on the FB page for updates.

Please accept my most sincere apologies for this very difficult decision and outcome.

Well, it's been an interesting year so far!

Towards the end of last year, local support for our craft and food markets was waining somewhat. It was difficult to get Stallholders to sign up (resulting in a huge downgrade of the Christmas Market last year) and equally as difficult to get customers through the door! I attend lots of events for my own business and was seeing this trend reflected across Kent.

This year, I decided not to organise any markets but just to watch and see what happens with other events across the Kentish area.

It does look like things are picking up somewhat, so we're forging ahead with the Christmas Market. I'm just finalising plans and will launch the event by the end of the week. 😃

Thank you to all our stallholders who also braved the weather! We really did have some very talented and creative crafters with us today, and we were treated to some beautiful items. Big big thanks to those of you who stayed behind to help with the clear up. I can't tell you how much we appreciate your help, and we were clear of the hall just after 4pm! 🙏

Again, a huge thank you to family and friends who pick up the slack when we're so busy with everything market! From childcare to housework, shopping and everything else you do behind the scenes to support us, thank you, and we love you. 🥰
