The first photo shows this beautiful maritime print by Thomas Wilkinson in a custom frame that is 20 years old. Two decades later, and it’s still in absolutely immaculate condition—a true testament to what high-quality craftsmanship and premium materials look like over time.

​The second photo shows the revamped version. By updating the frame to a more contemporary, textured wood and simplifying the mount, the artwork completely transforms.

First and foremost, I want to share a heartfelt thank you to all of our customers and friends.

Your continued custom and kind words have meant the world to me during what has been an incredibly difficult start to the year following the loss of my dad.

To ensure I can continue providing the best service while managing things behind the scenes, I am updating the gallery’s opening hours.

​Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

​I understand that these morning hours may not suit everyone. If you would like to visit the gallery outside of these times, please do not hesitate to get in touch. I am more than happy to make alternative arrangements.

Suddenly but peacefully on 4th January 2026 aged 78 Years David (Dave)
Devoted partner of Liz, dearly loved Dad of Gary, step dad and Grandad, loved Father-in-Law of Steph, loved Brother, Brother-in-Law and Uncle.
Family and friends please meet for a celebration of Dave’s life at south Shields Crematorium on Monday 19th January at 11:15 am.
Family flowers only donations in lieu to Foundation of Light a collection will take place after the service.

The Westoe Gallery will be closed until further notice

On Sunday, our world got a little quieter as Dave gained his angel wings.

​Though his battle with cancer was short, he faced it with the same grit and heart he showed as a lifelong Sunderland supporter.

Dave passed away on January 4th 2026 with his family by his side, just a day after his surgery.

​A man who loved the peace of Marine Park and the spirit of Sunderland AFC. He was more than just a father, he was Gary’s best friend.

They spent hours talking football and sharing a deep passion for the game through plenty of healthy, heated disagreements that only a father and son can truly understand.

A true red and white through and through. In the words of his favorite club: "Haway the lads...Sunderland Till I Die."
