I started Making Interiors in 1989 in Hook, Hampshire, originally trading as Makin Tracks. In those early days, I built up my expertise fitting curtains and blinds for interior designers and curtain makers, gaining hands-on experience with high-end products and traditional craftsmanship. Working mainly with interlined curtains, large wood poles from companies like Hunter Hyland, and luxury fabrics
from Osborne & Little, Sanderson, and Villa Nova, I established a strong reputation across Fleet, Odiham, Surrey, and Weybridge. In 2001, I took a new direction shifting from working exclusively for the trade to launching Making Interiors as a full retail and trade company. I wanted to take my classic curtain and design background to the next level, offering high-quality curtains and blinds at competitive prices while making the entire process more convenient for clients. That’s when I introduced the Making Interiors mobile showroom fully fitted Volkswagen vans that bring the shop to your doorstep. Instead of browsing limited samples in a store or online, I bring a full range of fabrics and designs directly to you, ensuring a more personal, one-on-one experience. Without the overhead of a physical shop, I can keep costs down while maintaining exceptional quality and service. Our modern, well equipped workrooms allow us to produce bespoke, hand-sewn curtains and custom-made blinds tailored to each window. We’ve also expanded over the years to include commercial work, supplying interiors for hotels, show homes, and other large-scale projects. Our reputation has grown through word-of-mouth recommendations from families and businesses alike. In 2007, we were awarded sole area rights for several high-quality products, a testament to the trust manufacturers place in us. Over the years, we’ve continued to expand our offerings, from commercial fabrics for curtains, blinds, and seating to foam, van and boat lining carpets, and automotive and marine fabrics.
