Shop closed from 3pm.
As we are a family business, sometimes things happen and we need to keep the shop closed. Therefore we won’t be open tomorrow or Monday while we deal with something personal. Apologies for this but needs must.

Good afternoon, just a polite reminder about card payments.
We do have a minimum spend of £3 to be able to pay with card in our shop. This has been in place for a while and there is a sign next to our card machine.
We know this may not be ideal at times although with the rising cost of fees we have had to put this into place.
We thank customers who understand and hope to see you all very soon 😁

Is this of interest to our crochet community?
We have the opportunity to stock these new 25g crochet cotton balls and the two newly produced booklets from King Cole. Retail price for the cotton will be 99p, booklet price is still to be confirmed. Please let us know your thoughts.

It’s been necessary to close the shop this afternoon. Neither of us are feeling too good and don’t want to share whatever it is.

For anyone missing out on the green Mayfly and the red Firebug Firefly Aran, we have managed to get more. All other shades are very low or sold out. It’s been well liked by our customers for both the lovely sheen and ease of use.

❤️ Calling All Knitters & Crocheters ❤️

This year, we’re creating something truly special for Remembrance Day… and we need your help to make it happen.

We’re aiming to create 12,600 knitted and crocheted poppies – one for every soldier of the Durham Light Infantry who lost their life during the World Wars.

These poppies will form two breathtaking canopy installations, suspended from our Market Hall entrance ramps. A sea of red to honour their sacrifice and ensure they are never forgotten.

🧶 Can you help?
Whether you’re a seasoned knitter, a crochet pro, part of a craft group, WI, or just fancy getting involved, we’d love you to be part of this.

✨ Templates will be available soon (for those who want them)
✨ But your own designs are very welcome too – every poppy is part of the story

📅 Deadline for completed poppies: Friday 16th October
(This gives us time to carefully stitch them onto military cam netting, ready for display)

The shop will be opening at 10am tomorrow rather than 9 and the plan is to be closed by 2.30pm. The smallest member of our team isn’t well so we are juggling children as well as yarn.
