Durham Dales Centre Gift Shop has a range of quality gifts, branded clothing, greetings cards, jewellery, handbags, scarves, accessories, books and maps. Durham Dales Crafts- handmade crafts from various artists. Dales Floral Art- floral ranges, jewellery, cards & gifts. Cobalt Ceramics - handmade ceramics and gifts. Woolmouse - is home to

knits, wool, haberdashery, craft supplies & craft gifts. Busy Bees Studio - Vintage furniture and gifts. Tea Room & Murals – Homemade food, toasted sandwiches, salads, jacket potatoes, pies, quiches and speciality sweets. On warm days you can enjoy eating outside on the picnic tables either side of the Tea Room, with the front ones specially designed for wheelchairs. A special feature of the Tea Room is a series of interesting murals depicting local scenes and events. Business units are available for lease. Some people become part of a place’s story, and Kathryn Lowe-Oliver is one of them.

For 20 years, Kathryn has been a familiar and much-valued face within the Durham Dales community. From her early days at Stanhope TIC to her role today at the Durham Dales Centre, she has welcomed visitors, supported local businesses and seen the centre evolve.

Her connection to Rookhope Business Centre makes the story even more special. Kathryn once attended the school which is now a thriving business hub at the heart of rural Weardale.
