As I stand here and watch this happen to the plants I have taken so much care to sow, pot up, plant, feed, support……I really do wonder if it’s all worth it.

I am in my 8th year of growing and every year I can honestly say the weather has become more and more extreme. Last week I couldn’t work because of the extreme heat, all I could do was try to keep things alive.

Today I can’t work outside, except to try and limit damage. I can’t decide whether to cut flowers now to try to save them or tackle it tomorrow in the high winds and thunder predicted.

I’m not looking for sympathy, I’m just trying to show how hard it is for growers at the moment.

The hard work, the worries, the financial stress.

I’m not just worried about my flowers, I’m worried about what’s happening to the world and how it will affect my children and their future.

Just before Christmas me and .lilaflorist had the absolute pleasure of working on wedding for a beautiful couple, Poppy and Tom.
It was a very special Christmas wedding .
I got to work with my friend and very talented florist Jess. It was such a special experience, working together at such a wonderful venue and magical time of year.
