As some of you know my dad had a stroke two years ago and another last year, sadly this has caused vascular dementia. My dad’s memory now is rapidly declining and in order to keep as much of this for as long as possible before he gets to a piont of not knowing who we are, myself and my sister try to visit my dad every day I’d order to reminisce, which as you can imagine is no mean feet when working and trying to spend time with my children and gorgeous grandson. Keepsakes by Kath has always been a hobby as such alongside my permanent role of being a nurse. In order to spend time with my family I’m taking a break from keepsakes by Kath. I just wanted to take the time to thank every single person that trusted me to make them a keepsakes and recommended me over the last couple of years. The orders I’m currently making will be my last for quite sometime. I was asked to make a memory cushion from some first baby clothes, I was asked if I could remake a cushion that had previously been made by someone else that had lost its structure and make it to look like the other cushion I was making but the little pink jumper with the rabbit face on was particularly precious and if I could add a patch to the third cushion so they all had a similar feel, I think they turned out gorgeous xx.

Apologies for the radio silence over the last six weeks, I am still here but my dad had another stroke six weeks ago which turned out to be a very big bleed on his brain, this has advanced his vascular dementia significantly and so life for him and us as a family has sadly changed quite dramatically, Thankyou so much to all my lovely customers who have been very patient with extending there collection dates, we’re getting used to our new normality and I’m sewing again, I’m fully booked now for June and July but taking orders from august onwards thanks Kath Xx
