Stockport Clocks

For the next few weeks I’m only popping in Tuesday morning.
I’ll be more or less closed until June.
If you message me I can pop in and meet you at the shop.
The clock below is Victorian slate clock chiming on a silver bell.
It’s a big one! Weighs over 15 kg, about 45cm high.

Sorry everyone but I won’t be there tomorrow , 10th Feb. I’ve got an urgent job on.
I’ll be there as usual next week, should be the 17th Feb by my maths…
The clocks a nice Hipp Toggle master clock, awaiting restoration.

Victorian chain fusee skeleton clock, restored and now ready for sale.
I think it was made from a kit, the dome and base are older than the clock possibly.
Looks gorgeous though.

Another gorgeous Stockport clock. This ones a J Sheldon English Drop Dial with a fusee movement,
Movement requires a complete restoration. It’s got gut lines which will be replaced. I think the case and dial will stay more or less as they are. A light polish, a relaquer on the bezel , maybe a light touch in of the print.

Some nice school type clocks in, two with Bakelite cases, they’re converted to quartz so look good but need no servicing !
The grandfather clock is a Stockport maker, single handed, a bit of a collectors clock..

Merry Xmas everyone, Tuesday is Xmas Eve so I’ll be closed. I might pop in for 5 mins while I’m out to wind up the clocks so message me if you want to call in and I’ll make sure I’m there at the same time..
Photo is a basket case which has arrived, a donation that if it can be restored will go to charity. The dial is missing, there’s a photo, and that’s it! If you happen to have a spare dial it would be useful!

That’s the dial restoration done, that needs to harden off for a couple of weeks. There’s a couple of jobs before I get to the movement.
Movement is a Tameside clock company so that’s local as well , it’s going to be a lovely clock.

This is undergoing restoration, made in Tameside and retailed by Winters in Stockport.
It’s a full restoration as it’s a bit sorry for itself ..
