Well I'm back from my break, it has been lovely, very peaceful. Now I'm back ready to whip some energy back in my knitting!
Thinking about refreshing things around the shop realising this starys with clearing some space. Firstly I'm going to pop a bit of a special offer on some yarns then make up a clearence box for some "odd balls". You know the ones with out a mate.
This is the first the King Cole Flair. Deceptive it is as it is a 100gm ball that goes well above the normal meterage for a 100gm ball of chunky. There is a massive 320 metres or 350 yards in each ball. This is mostly because it has mohair it and because of the nature of it, its not spun tight. So as such it goes a long way! Check out the patterns for it when you come in the shop! Originally it was £5.99 a ball and I've reduced it to £4.00 a ball, which is over a 15% saving.

The main company I deal with for haberdashery dabbles a little in yarn. This Trimmits yarn is truly so very soft and is 100% acrylic. Now as I'm typing this I can't actually remember the cost of it but I'm sure it's less than £4.00 a ball! I'll confirm tomorrow when I'm back! I've bought in just four shades, I need to see if you like it as much as I do! Clare knitted this cardigan for the shop and sent me this photo through of it, so I could use it this afternoon. Then last night there was the most amazing sunset. It was almost 360 around the caravan site. Josh took this photo from the sea wall, about 150 yards from the van we were staying in! I could not believe just how much the colours reflected each other! Have you ever made anything that reflects your surroundings?

Thursday is June challenge day! The challenge is to make something small to pop out in your garden. So far this month I have made a decorative collar for a plant pot and a whirly gig hanger for my garden. I'm not sure if that's the official name for it but whirly gig is what I call them! These are the "random acts of kindness" I have made. There are just half a dozen of them I'm going to bob them out around the caravan site for people to take. They are book marks, after all so many of us read whilst we are on holiday don't we?
Have you made anything for the June challenge yet? It needs to be something to pop in your garden. Then send a photo and we'll have a vote and the winner will recieve a small prize from the shop.

IT'S WIP WEDNESDAY!!!
I'm away for a few days at my brother and his wife's caravan in Towyn, North Wales. Yes we have had a few showers, mostly overnight and today has seen many very quick showers but it's wonderfully peaceful. The sea wall is about 150 metres away from the van door so as you can imagine we have had our fair share of wind! It's OK though, I've bought a kite!
What have I done craftwise this week. Whilst I I brought Joshs sleeveless pully and I've completed the front! I also brought along a gilet that I have wanted take myself for a while. Its an aran style in double knit that I've fancied knitting for an age. I figured whilst I was here in the peace and quiet I could master the cables at least. Oh and I'm walking miles each day.
So what have you done this week? Any finished items? Anything new started or simply managed some progression on your wips? Pop a picture in the comments so we can all cheer you on.

I had a moan on Saturday, and quite a few of you agreed with me. That was lack of patterns for mens! So I looked out this one. Now the first one of these is a simple striped one. The second has intarsia across it possibly a little more intense than Saturdays pattern but none the less simple shapes. Both these jumpers have saddle shoulders, that makes for a lovely fit. They start at a 38" and go up to a 44" chest.
Now I don't carry the Eternity double knit currently but I do have the Majestic, also from King Cole. It is slightly shorter, 131 yards or 121 metres and the Eternity is 196 yard or 180 metres. So when your in ask us to work out what you need. The Majestic is 30% Acrylic, 50% superwash wool and 20% polyamide and an absolute bargain at £1.70 a ball. The pattern is £3.50.

There are two types of folk I always feel sorry for when it come to patterns. One is the male half of our population, the other is the youngsters from about 3 year olds upwards. When ever the reps call round I always look for patterns for them. This is one I got in a couple of months ago. Its a jumper and cardigan pattern and it fits from a 20" chest (about a 2/3 year old) up to a 28" chest (that's 8/9 years).
These garments are knitted in colour block segments, or intarsia as it is called in posh circles! Now intarsia can be quite intricate but this is a really simple version. Maybe I should do an intro to intarsia as a workshop, anyone interested?
The pattern is £3.50. The yarn is £3.70 a ball.

I've held off showing you this new pattern for the Wendy Giggles for a couple of weeks now. Basically I had sold all the yarn in this colour! As you can imagine it is very popular. This pattern fits from a 14" up to a 22" chest. It has on it a gorgeous blanket, a jumper and a hat.
The pattern is £3.50 The yarn costs £3.35 for a 100gm ball.

THE JUNE MINI CHALLENGE!
Cast your mind back to last Thursday. The challenge was to make something for your garden in June. Yes it did seem like such a good idea when the weather was so nice! Oh how things have changed. The challenge is still on! Have you taken me up on this or are you going to do it? Remember there is a prize at the end of the month. Simply make something for your garden. I said I was making a decorative strip to go around a plant pot. Its underway it actually has two tassles made for it. These are made with a small hank of embroidery thread. I sell some Trimmits ones of these. They are only 40p each. I'll try to put a show and tell how to make these if you wish to know. It shouldn't rake too long to complete. So next I'm working on a twirly thing to hang from the trees/shrubs. I've made these a few times before. They look lovely hung inside or out.
Are you joining me in the tiny challenge? Let me know. It simply has to be something small for your garden.
Photo 1 - my almost complete plant pot.
Photo two - the chosen colours for the twirly gig!

IT'S WIP WEDNESDAY!!!!

Well it's been a funny old week this week. One where some things have gone good and others have stalled. Josh's slipover is up to the arm shaping and I'm decreasing now. I've brought it home to do so I don't have to drop if a customer comes in. The simple crochet top is finished and I have worn it a couple of times. It is very comfy. So a new project has begun. It's a cardigan I've and it does have a pattern on it. I'm hopingthat once I have worked out the two row pattern I will be able to take it to do in the shop. I'm struggling at the moment, as I'm sure you know, crochet is not my go to yarn discipline reading patterns is not my forté and I am battling it at the moment. The forth picture is what I am aiming for! The first picture shows the simple tee sweater I'm making as a sample for the workshop this month. I've done nothing on that.
How are your WIP's going? Anything finished? Any new cast ons? Making something completely different? Pop a picture on so we can cheer you on!
