If you don't have a chimney, can you still have a stove?

Yes you can.

With no chimney requirement and still producing up to 3 KW of heat, a bio ethanol stove is a great choice.

Available in a number of designs, and easy to install - just place on a heat proof base, fill the burner tray, light then sit back and enjoy the warming flames.

Exposed brickwork within your chimney breast is always a popular design choice with either a woodburning or gas stove.

But what happens if your chimney's brickwork isn't in great condition? Or is a newer property that hasn't been built from brick?

Don't worry, we have a solution. We offer a range of premade chambers. These chambers are made from real brick slips attached to heat resistant boards. Available in a number of styles and colours, from rustic, to reclaimed and antique. We can help find the right design for you.

Team with either a slate, honed granite or tiled hearth to create that cosy look and finish with a beam.

Do you have an extension or a new property with no chimney?

Not having a chimney doesn't mean you can't have a stove. With options available to build an insulated flue system, have a balanced flue stove or fit an appliance that doesn't need a chimney such as electric or bio ethanol, we can guide you through.

Already have an existing surround?

When designing a fireplace it's not always the case of ripping everything out but using features that are already in your home.

Using the existing surround, we've opened up the chimney breast, lined the internal walls with heat resistant board, which the customer has painted black, then fitted a new 2 piece honed granite hearth.

For the stove, the customer decided on a Penman Bassington multifuel stove. Available with a choice of leg options or even enamelled. To keep with the classic look we stayed with the matt black and standard leg version.

A few things were happening on this day in 2001.

Phil Mitchell had just been shot in Eastenders. Charles Ingram was filming the infamous episode of Who wants to be a Millionaire.

If you were out shopping a loaf of bread was 52p, a pint of milk was 20p and a gallon of petrol was £1.64.

The 3rd September was also the day I started working full time at Coalwood Heating Centre.

I've seen a lot of changes within the industry, met some great customers, worked with and still work with some fabulous suppliers and reps. So I'd just like to say Thankyou to all of you for making these last 25 years so great!

Here's to the next 25!
