I am wondering whether the larger version of our 274-Pomegranates stencil is destined for an area between picture rail and ceiling cornice. It’s going to a customer in Australia who does beautiful decoration and restoration work. It would look gorgeous just above the hemline on curtains too.

Swallows and Japanese Willow stencils. The Swallow stencil is a pack of three different size swallows, build your flock by stencilling the small ones first; add the medium sized ones and let a few overlap then add a smattering of the largest ones. It gives the illusion of distance. The JA Willow stencil consists of a several leafy strands that you fit together and/or overlap

My previous post showed iridescent and pearlescent paint stencilled onto fabric. These silk cushion covers have a mixture of acrylic paint and household emulsion paint stencilled onto them. To soften the wall paint and make it completely washable I mix 1 teaspoonful of fabric medium with 1 teaspoonful of the paint onto a 🎨 or plate.

I had forgotten about this kaftan that I dyed and stencilled for my mother after a trip to Marrakech. I think she’s forgotten it too so I shall carry out a wardrobe raid. I love that colour and I’m sure the summer’s not over yet. The fabric is stencilled using pearlescent and iridescent fabric paints. We stock a good selection of them and some lovely metallic colours too.

Our village plants and garden society held a ‘Blooming Doorstep’ competition earlier this summer. Stocksfield Plants & Gardens Society. I think it was inspired by a quote from Sir David Attenborough that talked of nature on our national doorsteps. I was inspired to create mini garden on mine. It has annuals, perennial, shrubs and herbs. It’s been a joy, there are so many insects buzzing around and the birds have become fearless; probably thinking that I can’t see them. I started the doorstep garden by painting both plastic and terracotta pots in two shades of blue. The pots are deliberately small because the entire thing will need to move to a sunnier spot for the winter months. The sun does not reach here until May and will leave in September. So, I shall paint a few more and then plant some shade loving evergreen shrubs for the birds to hide in.

The ever gleeful Flying Pigs on our ‘VN161 Pigs Might Fly’ stencil. There’s a smaller flying pigs stencil in our catalogue too; 3 flying pigs in varying sizes. Both of them make me happy to see them, they’re so smiley.
