It is such a privilege to be trusted by families to flower the most meaningful events and it was a huge honour to create arrangements for a memorial service in the most beautiful local church this week.
For a gentleman with a farming background and a deep love of the countryside I made this personal tribute to adorn the magnificent font. Autumnal dahlias, cosmos, amaranthus, sunflowers and Japanese anemones danced above seasonal foliages, rosemary for remembrance, hawthorn berries, rose hips, bracken, grasses and teasels and hops from the hedgerow tumbled down.
Farewell flowers are such a pleasure to create and it is especially lovely to know of the comfort they bring to loved ones in their time of sadness.
If you swipe to the end you will see the mechanics I used - compostable platters of moss were attached to a plank and jars of water for the flowers were secured with chicken wire which also helped support the stems. Beautiful and sustainable floristry for a final farewell.
