Thought it was about time I introduced myself properly!

I’m Matt, Artisan Blacksmith here at Skeggox Forge - located in the Staffordshire Moorlands, at Winkhill just outside of Leek.
I’ve been forging for over 20 years, alongside working for various local engineering companies as a CNC Machinist. In 2020 I decided to take the plunge and make blacksmithing my full-time job, and now get to spend my days playing with fire and hammering metal 🔥⚒️
A few years ago I decided I wanted to start sharing my knowledge and skills, and now offer blacksmith experiences for groups of up to 4 people. Through this I’ve discovered a love for teaching, and really enjoy sharing my passion for this ancient craft with anyone who wants to learn.

If you’re interested in finding out more, have a look at the website at skeggoxforge.co.uk ⚒️

Discover the skills that blacksmiths have relied upon since the Iron Age - during the experience you’ll learn to use and maintain a traditional coke forge, master various hammer techniques, and work with the anvil and an array of forming tools to achieve your desired outcomes.
