It’s not so often that we share news like this but it has been announced that the Government has given a £120 million support package for the UK ceramics industry, described as a landmark decision and turning point for the sector.

Ceramics UK Chief Executive, Rob Flello, has noted the investment has the potential to safeguard jobs, drive innovation and create a more sustainable future for our industry.

This is fabulous news for the UK ceramics industry as it recognises us as a key industry for manufacturing and innovation. But more importantly it’s for the people who work within it, we hire 26 very talented potters who are the most incredible team and this backing will hopefully bring support to them and everyone else who is part of this wonderful industry, so it can continue through to the next generations and beyond.

We need your help.

With the newly launched Ceramics T Level and an industry wide Apprenticeship programme, the next generation of potters are arriving and we must ensure that the industry is secured and thriving for generations to come.

Recent developments in the ceramics industry underline there are many issues we need to overcome. Mounting energy costs continue to put pressure on our sector and put jobs, skills and long-standing manufacturing heritage at risk.

To combat this, a Parliamentary petition is calling on the Government to address these critical challenges by extending the 'British Industry Supercharger' scheme to include ALL ceramic manufacturers - as it stands tableware and ceramics objects are not included whereas other ceramic production is.

The petition has already secured enough signatures to receive a Government response. Reaching 100,000 signatures would trigger consideration for a debate in Parliament, a crucial next step in ensuring the industry’s concerns are heard.

Every signature matters.

Next up for Salone del Mobile.Milano: Bethan Laura Wood's Pickle Tower.

Hand-built earthenware, tube-lined and hand-painted. A monumental sculpture that draws on the 18th-century tradition of trompe-l'œil ceramic food vessels and filters it through the colour and optimism that defines everything Bethan Laura Wood makes.

We are one week away from our Milan presentation at Salone Raritas, Salone del Mobile's new platform for collectible design and high-end craft.

First up: Max Lamb's Crockery collection. Fine bone china slip-cast from plaster Lamb carved himself, by hand, using the tools of a stonemason. The design of each piece formed quite simply out of its own making.

Hall 09, Fiera Milano Rho. 21–26 April 2026.
