It’s been a surprisingly busy few days this week considering the Easter holidays are over. We are lucky to welcome lots of holiday makers from all over the world, and that can mean an influx of visitors across various months.

Behind the scenes in the kiln 🔥

Once our clay pieces are fully dried, they’re ready for their very first firing — known as “biscuit” (or “bisque”) firing. Each piece is carefully loaded onto towering kiln cars, running on rails like tracks, before being slowly taken up to over 1100°C.

This is where the transformation begins — turning fragile clay into strong, durable “biscuit ware”. The process is slow and precise, with cooling alone taking up to 48 hours.

A real reminder of the patience and craftsmanship behind every piece.
