Well well well what do we have here.
Its a Contura 620 Style that is equipped with heat retaining powerstone and convection damper as standard, this means you get even more heat out of your logs because the heat is retained in the stone.

What did we do on this installation?

We removed the gas inset fire and false chimney breast.
Plastered the wall, replaced the cornice & skirting board.
Supplied & fitted a full twin wall flue system. Contura 620 and air kit.

Our customer loves it & so do we.

In response to yet more misleading headlines hitting the news today, stoves and woodburners ARE NOT BEING BANNED. House coal and wet wood, which has never been a fuel that is suitable for any stove, is to be phased out by 2023. Smokeless coal however and dry seasoned wood are clean fuels and continue to be the only fuels suitable for your stove.
The stove industry continually works hard to improve fine particle emissions from woodburners, which is why when choosing the right stove for you, you'll find we mention Eco design ready and SIA approved models which meet the governments tougher new legislation.

I find this news good news for the environment and the industry as a whole as it prohibits the sale & use of the most damaging fuels.

Installation completed of a Dik Geurts Ivar 5 Wood burning stove
With original fireplace , granite hearth & picture slips, with a perfect back drop of baby bricks. We lined the chimney and fitted a closure plate to cap off the base of the chimney.

What do you think? Do you like the mixture of traditional materials and modern stove?

Plus a false chimney breast and twin wall chimney system carried out at a lovely house in Livingston for the Bogan family. Who are delighted with their new stove & fireplace.
Our brief- to remove the existing balanced gas fire, build a false chimney breast to house the stove & the chimney system. This created a superb new feature in the room without taking over!
New limestone surround, granite hearth, rustic chamber and multi-fuel stove.
All building work, plastering to the highest standard carried out by The Stove Installation Company.

New inset stove installed yesterday in an arch fireplace, when fitting a inset stove your fireplace can be kept, turning your cold drafty inefficient open fire into a 80% efficient stove in 1 day, keeping down the costs and the dust :)
