Hello, We haven't been very active here due to personal reasons but we are still beeswax obsessed!
We hope you all had a restful winter and with spring in the air we share one of our Molten gold candles basking in this glorious sun we are having!

This is a good example of what happens when you burn candles too close together.
The candle wall burst causing wax to cascade out... It looks cool but is not ideal.
You can fix this by extinguishing the candle and then pinching some of the soft wax sides to create a dam. Be careful not to burn yourself, but generally this works well to block the channel.
The beauty of beeswax candles is that most things are fixable, making them long lasting and less wasteful.

We had the pleasure of staying at with our group Svartland Vikings vikings for the International Living History Festival this weekend. The 15th century town house was a favourite, there they have these beautiful examples of window covers. Made using a frame covered in linen and finished with beeswax. They blocked the windows from drafts but still allow a beautiful golden light as you can see in the first picture. Another amazing use for beeswax in history.
