The family living space of a rental I recently styled. We added lots of texture to the neutral palette, a stylish work space for a work from home mum, a super comfy sofa for all the family to snuggle on and a very cute bunny ears table and chairs for the smallest member of the family! The desk and chair deviated slightly from the original corner desk idea on the moodboard but I love how it’s turned out, especially the quirky chair from with the zip back detail

‘Styling makes a house a home’ I saw those words on a post today and isn’t that just the truth. Without all the layering, the personal objects, artwork, books etc even the most beautifully designed spaces could belong to anyone. Your home should be truly unique to you, an extension of you, your sanctuary. Styling adds character and warmth, it can turn bland into cosy without a huge budget as more often than not it starts with things you already own. It really does bridge the gap between just a house and your home

I love the idea of using a colour disruptor, much like the ‘unexpected red’ theory it disrupts your room’s main colour scheme, making it look more curated and adding another layer of interest instantly. I’ve used Rhubarb from to repaint this old chest in complete contrast to the soothing blues and neutrals in the rest of the bedroom but still picking up on the ‘pink thread’ through the rest of the house. This mouth watering shade of pink certainly packs a punch!

Styling a child’s room, I’ve loved working on these and some have been done several times over the years, changing the colours, beds and storage solutions but the best part after they’re finished is rummaging through the baskets to find the most photogenic toys for the pics! 🧸 🚗 🚂
