Slab building, one of the most exciting handbuilding techniques to learn, offering you so many creative possibilities in size, shape and decorative finishes.

We just love Rachel’s lantern she designed and made out of white clay, rolled the slab, transferred her design and carved those wonderful building outlines and cutting out windows to allow the light to flicker through. Finished with a clear glaze, we can’t wait to see it lit up.

Texture is such a joyful way to bring a clay surface to life.
Look beyond commercial texture tools and start experimenting with the everyday things around you. Buttons, fabric, screws, wood, leaves and all sorts of “found” objects can create beautiful and unexpected marks.
