Sometimes the most awkward of spaces become a little moment of peaceful perfection! This calm scene is a thoroughfare space, but by adding double doors and some bespoke joinery, and pairing it with comfortable furniture and a serene colour palette, it becomes a lovely peaceful yet practical part of the house.

11. Otto Wagner’s villa in Vienna, Austria. The Roman bathroom is inspired by Pompeian ruins, but is an illusion. What appears to be marble is meticulously painted wood. The mosaic above, featuring twin birds, predates any alterations, while later embellishments were the handiwork of Ernst Fuchs. Via

I love everything in this shot of our principal bedroom. Having an oversized headboard enhancing the enveloped feeling when climbing into bed, and pairing warm tones of wood and deep red dahlia with a little shot of green, offset by the neutral white tones in there, is one that makes one feel calm and serene when in the space. 🥀

Green is one of my favourite colours, and is sometimes called the 5th primary due to it being such an intrinsic part of the colour wheel. Yet I hasten to add, it’s so important to get the right shade. Go too dark, and it becomes gloomy and heavy. Too light with too much yellow, it is confronting and unpleasant to be around. This shade is just right. Thank you .ellis for delivering such beautifully blended tones, always.
