So sad to visit Ray today at Fabriques and see him closing down, he’s worked so hard and such a loyal and lovely person - please go visit if you can before he leaves altogether, not long before it shuts and still has some gorgeous fabrics and habby with 15% off everything!

Although we don’t have a specific date on closure, due to landlords pushing to move out of the warehouse this week could be the last ( if I am lucky ) .

Autumn foraging done! ✅

- Elderberry syrup with star anise and cardamom pod ready for protecting your winter immune system. 10 times the vitamin C content compared to blueberries 🫐

- green plum jam and green plum turmeric chutney

- I have about 3kg of blackberries in the freezer ready for jam making and blackberry ice cream 😋

Last opportunity to visit this week with lots going on this Saturday 12-3pm!

Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens will temporarily close on Saturday 29 August for a once-in-a-generation transformation.

Before the hard hats arrive, why not pop in and say goodbye to your favourite exhibits, take a stroll through the Winter Gardens and make some final memories of the Museum as it is today.

This isn’t goodbye forever; it’s the start of an exciting new chapter. In the meantime, keep an eye out for Museum events and activities coming up in venues across the city.

Hello, sorry for being a little absent recently, just back from a week in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Planning some classes shortly - including jersey PJ bottoms, a shirred top and possibly a 3 or 4 week dressmaking course.

I have spaces still on the wrap/shawl workshop and zipped cushion cover workshop (both in September). See my pinned post at the top of my page but just drop me a message if you would like to know more.

2 glorious days of beautiful sandy beaches and clear warm seas…who needs the Caribbean, Scotland has THE best beaches.

My morning walk with Mollie was stunning as the tide was out, stood watching a heron - we are staying opposite Fidra Island on Yellowcraig Beach. This afternoon we walked through the woodland to stay cool and a Roe Deer jumped out right in front of us! 🦌 (it was amazing!) then across the golf course onto the sand dunes.

Halloumi and red pepper kebabs devoured, now chilling out waiting for the eclipse 🌙

Fidra Island: It is famous as the inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel Treasure Island and serves as a protected RSPB seabird reserve with a lighthouse built in 1885 and Ruins of a medieval chapel date back to 1165.
