The idea began as my solution for a birthday present for the man who has everything...I'm sure we all know someone like that 🤣 What followed, has quickly turned into my dream business! Maps help us to travel, and more importantly help us to dream. I love the idea that our pin board maps will inspire new adventures. Mostly I love how maps reveal stories, personally unique and special to each of us. They have the ability to capture the romantic, nostalgic notion of mapping out our lives, and where they take us. I’ve always loved maps (not that I’ve ever been able to read one- thank you Google maps for loyally sticking by me on long road trips 🙌) These days you’ll still most likely find me with my head buried in an atlas; permanently doodling. I really hope that I can bring you as much happiness from my illustrated maps as I get when I draw them. The current range offers you framed and un framed world pin board maps, as well as individual continents and countries. All our pin board maps are made-to-order with your unique personalised titles. The maps can then be added to, by you, with our colourful push pins to depict your own special adventures and memories📍

If you have any weird and wonderful ideas of how you would like to further personalise your pin board map, drop us an email at [email protected] and we will try our best to make it possible for you. I look forward to working closely with you, to make your quest in finding a perfectly unusual gift for someone that little bit easier.

They’re on their way! I’ve absolutely loved packing the first ever My Travel Journal orders today.

I wrote a little thank you for every person who ordered, checked each journal more times than I’d like to admit and wrapped them in what some might call an excessive amount of bubble wrap.

I want every one to arrive looking exactly as it did when it left me. I like to think this is an entirely reasonable response to spending six years making something.

They’ve now all been lugged to the Post Office, ready for their next adventures.

If one of these is yours, thank you. I hope you fill it with some very good stories.

Holiday me is wildly overconfident.

Of course I’ll remember the restaurant name. Of course I’ll do something with all those photographs. And obviously the receipt stuffed into the bottom of my bag will survive several days of marinating in suncream.

Three weeks later, I have 700 photographs, a slightly translucent receipt and a note on my phone saying something extremely helpful like “BEST PASTA!!!”

So these are the five things I’d tell my best friend before her next holiday. Mostly because I wish someone had told me years ago.

After nearly 13 years of making pinboard maps, I couldn’t stop thinking about all the stories behind the pins.

I actually started designing the journal six years ago. I’d found a manufacturer and worked out the page layouts, then 2020 happened. Nobody was travelling, my existing business grew faster than I could keep up with, and a few years later I became a mum.

It’s been started, stopped and overthought more times than I care to admit, but it’s finally here.

My Travel Journal is now available and I’ve tagged it if you fancy a nosy.

Now I want to know the most random holiday detail your brain has chosen to remember. Mine is usually something very useful, like the colour of the bathroom tiles, while the restaurant name disappears forever.

Apparently, quite hard…

It turns out photographing a book involves moving the same pencil several times, rearranging journals by a few millimetres and me repeatedly attempting to look natural.

By shoot day, My Travel Journal had already been designed, printed, filled in and thoroughly road-tested. I knew exactly how it felt to use. But I needed photographs that could show everyone else what made it so special too.

Somehow, Diana took all the journals, props, hands and tiny adjustments and turned them into exactly what I’d imagined. She made the whole day so much fun too.
My Travel Journal launches this Thursday and the first batch is pretty small.

8 days to go… and after six years, I can finally say that My Travel Journal launches next Thursday 17th September.

From the first sketches and page designs, through proofs, samples, manufacturing hiccups and more changes than I care to count, to finally opening that box and holding the finished journal in my hands.

I made it for all the stories your camera roll can’t quite hold. The little café you discovered, the meal you still talk about, the place you found by accident and the funny moments you never want to forget.

The first batch is super small, and everyone on the waitlist will be able to shop before the public launch.

I’ve always been very good at taking the photos. Less good at remembering to actually write down the stories behind them.

The little restaurant we stumbled across.
The meal we still talk about.
The funny thing our son did.

Those are the bits I want to remember.

That’s why I made My Travel Journal.

A place to write down the stories behind your adventures, before they get lost somewhere in your camera roll.

Launching Thursday 17th September. Comment WAITLIST for early access.

They’re here!!

After more hiccups than I care to share right now (I promise I will, but later!) the first batch of My Travel Journals has finally arrived and I have a launch date.

Who said manufacturing was easy? Eeek, it certainly wasn’t me.

My Travel Journal launches at 7pm on Thursday 17th September!

The first batch is small, so comment WAITLIST and I’ll send you the early access link that morning, before it goes live to everyone else.

In case you’re new here, my job essentially involves a lot of drawing, designing, proofing, packing and drinking tea ☕️

I’m Louisa, the illustrator behind Louisa Elizabeth. I create personalised maps and I’m about to launch My Travel Journal. I’m basically an old romantic, constantly dreaming up ways to immortalise your favourite memories.

I’m also coming up to my 13th business birthday, how did that happen?! Have you been around here since the early days or are you new here?

Last weekend, I had another chance to road-test My Travel Journal when I took it to Camp Bestival with me.

When we were all hot and bothered and needed some downtime away from the chaos, we found a shady spot and wrote down all the funny little stories from our weekend together.

It was such a lovely way to slow down as a family and capture those little moments while they were still fresh. This is exactly why I created My Travel Journal: to give the stories behind our adventures somewhere safe to keep.

My Travel Journal launches on Thursday 27 August, but I’m only having a very small first batch printed.

Comment WAITLIST below and I’ll make sure you receive the link before they go live.
