Morning! I'm pleased to say we had a big furniture day yesterday. We were out on a collection all day! We met a lovely couple tasked with clearing the most amazing treasure trove of a house. Literally full to the rafters with amazing stuff. I was overwhelmed by the scale of the job and I wasn't even in charge of clearing it!!
Anyway, hot and bothered because we had to dismantle and two trips later because we'd left Rowley relaxing at home; we've come away with: Two beautiful mid century wardrobes, a mid century tallboy and matching dressing table. I can't wait to show you....they are swaaaanky!
It might take me a while to get to them but I'm happy knowing they're there waiting for me.

Sometimes I feel our lives are a million different things pulling us in a million different directions. It's exciting and overwhelming in equal measures.

So many projects on the go, but the personal ones always remain part done, ongoing and unfinished as work takes priority.

Sometimes find it frustrating that we don't get to spend all day everyday in the garden or making the house beautiful or out exploring with friends but that's not real life is it! Maybe that's retirement??

We all have to work and at this point in time we're concentrating on the holiday let stayatno81 , another separate family project and Rhys' graphic design business TMPL Design Co. ! All great fun and exciting projects that we absolutely LOVE devoting our time to! I'm not moaning by any means! Just feeling like life is a whirlwind sometimes 🌪️! (I've probably had too much coffee)!

We're incredibly lucky to do what we do and I look at all we've achieved with this stop/ start, do what we can, when we can formula. I must stop comparing my life to people who seem to have it all together. We're all just muddling by aren't we! Aren't we??

All progress is progress and it's the journey that counts the most because that's what life is made up of after all....

Looking back through some of my previous furniture projects today to get the inspiration flowing again. It's easy to forget just how many beautiful pieces have passed through the workshop over the years.

I've got a lovely sideboard sitting there waiting patiently for some attention... now I just need to get my butt down to the workshop and make a start! 😅

We've also sold quite a bit of our stock recently, so it won't be long before it's time to start hunting down some new stock. That's always one of my favourite parts—never knowing what hidden gems are around the next corner....

We've had some time off! Woohooo! The weather has been incredible ☀️☀️plus the winters soooooo are long so we've made a point of taking some time off between projects. If I'm totally honest, furniture work has gone on the back burner again of late. It's almost like we took on the workshop and then instantly got pulled in different directions 😂😂. I'm not stressing about it though. This is the season of life I'm in right now and the very best thing about our work is that it's flexible. It is and always has been something I can pick up and put down as life pressure pulls us in different directions. There's things that are slowly happening in the background here that should improve our workflow when time opens up again. Until then I'm hoping to keep my toe in and spring back into action when the time is right. Anyhow I'm always looking for new stock so you never know I might suddenly hit you with some GEMS 💎!!
You may have to put up with some more general life stuff posts in the interim!

June was crazy. So much going on with each of the businesses. All good though and it's good to be busy.

Lots of stock gone/going out which means I need to take some time getting some stock back in. We're currently transitioning our workshop/storage, we have to help clear out our new place so it won't be ready for a little while and then we'll need to paint it before moving in. Hopefully that can all happen this summer and then I can start operation stock hunt which is always exciting!

I'll be looking for some nice dining tables, sideboards, glazed bookcases, banks of drawers, desks and anything else unusual that catches my eye. Is there anything you'd like to see?

Thought you might enjoy Rowley's slo-mo pounce and bark this Thursday morning 😂

Rowley's heatwave routine is hourly river dips followed by a roll 'n' mess around in the clover.

We're off for an early walk after watering the pots this morning.

I'm trying (it's hard) to be a much more chilled version of myself so we've had a weekend out and about for a change. Trying to tackle the endless to do list at breakneck speed is not good for my health so eating ice cream has been prescribed as an antidote for being an absolute nightmare 😂👍🏼!

Yesterday we hit the beach straight from work and had chips by the seaside. Rowley played with his frisbee and made everyone who saw him laugh as he carries it with his face through the middle and looks like a satellite dish! He knows it's funny and does it deliberately!

Today we drove to Hay on Wye and had a lovely walk around some shops. Bought myself some sunglasses and we had lunch and an ice cream in the castle grounds in the shade. We stopped in Glasbury on Wye on the way home and sunbathed while Rowley swam in the river. Quite fancy getting myself a paddle board. Looks like a chilled sport I could do, plus you can't work yourself silly while doing it so perhaps that's the answer for a new chilled me?

Anyway, we're home now. It's boiling hot so I'm allowed to be on my phone in the cool and this isn't really work as I'm telling you about my day.

I haven't prepped the spec yet but here's a little look at this gorgeous Victorian pine glazed cupboard. Let me know of any early interest and I'll pop the spec over tomorrow once I've had a chance to pull everything together. Enjoy your sunny Sunday evening ☀️

My Enikő Eged - Night Ride print has gone up and I'm so happy with it! That and the shelf going up feels like a big step forward! I'm super chuffed to see light at the end of the hallway tunnel!

A little bit of progress needed everyday now to get this finally done and dusted. We started last August so it's been a minute!!

Still left to do: door sanding x 6, door painting x 4, painting mirrors x 3, painting upstairs skirtings and architrave and then finally the floor boards.

Bedroom needs doing next 🤫 but don't tell Rhys.
