Every now and again we get asked to look at a room and our first thoughts are – what are we going to do here? And how?
This downstairs cloakroom is the perfect example. Originally it consisted of 2 rooms – a small downstairs WC and a boiler room incorporating manifolds, megaflow and a floor mounted boiler.
Tricky space indeed. So, we knocked the wall out between the 2, opening up the room to its full potential. Then we hid all of the pipework and cables behind beautiful full height doors, adding small ventilation holes top and bottom.
We then had the task of fitting in a WC and basin, opting for this sumptuous Alta Carrera floor mounted washbasin. Capping the dwarf wall and basin surrounds with Windsor quartz to match the basin was the next step, and finally the Lusso Luxe taps and handles by Pushka.
The flooring was laid in Karndean with a small gold beading around the border and finally handpainting of the furniture in Farrow and Ball Blancha.
Lighting is equally important in a cloakroom, for a room this plush we opted for a coffered detail above the cabinetry to provide a nice soft glow across the ceiling. Additionally we created a display niche in the room with Led lighting within.
Honestly this is a room we have all fallen in love with. You can install the biggest kitchens and bedrooms, but sometimes a room this small, and tricky, giving you immense satisfaction.
Hasten to add the client was that thrilled they had a Loo Reveal Party at the weekend, which I hear went down a treat.
