Q. The most commonly asked question is usually :- "How much does a stove cost to have supplied and installed"
A. While this answer can vary quite a lot, its vitally important you supply us some basic info first.
To begin, we need to know what is currently in place where you would like the stove to go, be it in an exisiting chimney breast or simply free standing. The easiest and simplest way is for you to take some good quality photos, some close up and some stood well back. We need to be able to see what is there, check approximate sizing and do some quick maths.
Better still, if you can also take 2 or 3 measurements that would be fantastic, however all is not lost if this bit can't be done.
Q. I hear stoves are going to be banned - is this true?
A. There is absolutely no truth or substance to this at all it is usually sensationalist headlines in newpapers or more commonly "clickbait" online. The government is continually trying to make the country greener and they want solid fuel appliances to be as efficient as possible - (which we agree with by the way) and Gone are the days where stoves and open fires were looked upon as not only a cosy fireplace but as a waste incinerator for your crisp packets, plastic and other rubbish. Smokeless coals and dry logs are for burning!
Q. What is better - a wood burner or multi-fuel stove?
A. It depends on what you are defining "better" as. This really is personal choice. In our opinion; dedicated woodburners have a much bigger glass window giving you a better view of the fire, but you are restricted to just wood based fuels. Multifuel stoves have a removable ash pan and a secondary air control too. The ash pan makes cleaning out that bit easier but generally at a cost to window size.
