Here's our opening hours for next week. We are away at 3pm sharp today to take baby Alexander to the sunny Isle of Mull to visit some of his cousins, aunties, uncles and grandparents 😊

All online orders will be taken care of on Tuesday and the shop will be back open on Wednesday with some new weird and wonderful additions 😊

After the success of last time, we will be running our '20% off' sale on all of our diecast models again this week and will be opening our doors a wee bit later also. Thursday 20th, 12pm to 7pm 🚚🛻🚛🚜

We like shiny things here at Larkin & Catcher. BUT and it's a BIG but they have to have a bit of character. We choose what we like and we cross our fingers that you like it too. Probably the wrong way to do things but there is something relaxed and truthful about it. It gives us a sense of rightness and it makes the process a whole lot more enjoyable.

By the end of today we will have these two little gems available via our Tarbert shop or online from our Etsy store.

Silver and 9ct gold eternity ring in a beautiful antique box. The box itself is from between 1890's - 1920's. The ring? Possibly around that time but we think later.

Hallmarked sterling vintage silver miniature perfume bottle set. By Ari D Norman, 1970's we believe.

We love a Bossons head here at Larkin & Catcher. Everyone remembers their granny having one in the house when they were growing up. Such attention to detail, all portraying a sense of 'cheekiness'.

A while back we came across this little gem. It sat lonely and packed away for a while, until recently I had a look at it. Not only was it a vintage compact, it was also a music box! A wee bit of tinkering in the shed and I got the music box playing again. I wonder how long it was been since it was last played. And this is the beauty of it...

So what we have here is a working, vintage Kigu minuette musical powder compact, dating back to the 1950's. The power compartment looks like it has never been used before.

You won't find one of these in your local Superdrug!

Today we took receipt of this beautiful Vintage Georgian style gilt-framed wall mirror with lovely aged character and original foxed Glass.

At some point in it's life this mirror passed through the doors of the well known Beaux Arts Gallery, London. Underneath the label there seems to be some referencing to a painting along side the name of the celebrated artist Sir William Nicholson (1872-1949). Of course this could also reference the English portrait painter William Nicholson (1781-1844).

Will we ever know? And this, is the beauty of it all.

A day in the shop spent sorting through some antique and vintage postcards.....there is LOTS of them.....not going to lie, it's not the most fun job in the world.

HOWEVER, you do come across some wee gems, these are my favourite so far.

An immaculate postcard of Tobermory main street, dated 1904 and produced by Hugh Cameron of Tobermory - I wonder if any of my Mull friends are related?

A real photograph postcard of Elvis, probably around 1958, not the best condition but on the back it informs us he is 12 stone and owns 6 Cadillacs and 200 teddy bears...thanks for that.

A German patriotic fundraising postcard featuring an embossed 'Her Majesty Empress Augusta Victoria' issued by the German Veteran's Association in 1905, making it over 120 years old and it's in pretty good nick.

Another few postcards featuring The King & Queen of Norway and HRH Prince Olaf, King Edward VII, also Kaiser Wilhelm II with the Duke of Connaught and King Edward VII. All pretty cool.

Give me 3 years and all the post cards will be available for sale in our shop. A few are available now 😅
