Painted floorboards… every floor sander’s favourite!

This Bath home had original pine floorboards hidden beneath layers of white paint. It wasn’t the quickest project, but bringing timber like this back to life is always worth the effort.

Every board was carefully sanded back to bare wood before being stained with Morrells Classique Light Oak and finished with Bona Mega Matt lacquer, giving the floor a warm, natural finish that will last for years to come.

The transformation speaks for itself, and another happy client makes all the hard work worthwhile.

Hidden beneath old carpets… a beautiful Victorian pine floor waiting to be uncovered. 🤎

This charming period property in Bristol had its original floorboards hidden beneath carpet, underlay and hardboard - all of which had to be carefully removed before the restoration could begin.

The hardboard alone contained what felt like a million nails, making the preparation almost as challenging as the sanding itself! We also carried out repairs to damaged boards using reclaimed pine to keep everything as authentic as possible.

The floorboards were then sanded back to bare timber, along with the original staircase, before being finished with Morrells Classique Light Oak stain and protected with Bona Mega Matt for a durable, natural-looking finish.

It’s always a privilege to restore original timber like this and reveal the character that’s been hidden away for decades.

Pine floorboard restoration in Burnham-on-Sea 🌊

This one had been hidden under carpet for many years, with gaps full of debris!

All gaps were cleaned out before sanding the boards back from P40 through to P120, bringing the timber back to life and ready for finishing.

We then applied Morrells Classique Light Oak to match with the interior, followed by Bona Mega Matt for a durable, low-sheen finish.

This property is being transformed into an Airbnb, and the client has done a tremendous job renovating the house throughout - it’s come together brilliantly.

Pine floor restoration in a heatwave… not for the faint hearted ☀️

This one was sanded back to bare wood, removing the old finish and bringing the boards back to life. We took care around the exposed well….it has a glass roof but it still took a minute to have the courage to step on the glass!

We then applied Morrells Classique Dark Oak stain to deepen the tone, followed by Bona Mega Matt for a clean, natural finish without the shine.

Not your average floor restoration…

We recently completed this floorboard renovation in Exeter.

What started as a heavily damaged floor quickly turned into a full rip out, with rotten joists and boards caused by poor airflow beneath the property.

We removed the existing structure, dug out leftover soil to reopen airflow, and ensured all vents were clear to prevent future issues.

New treated joists were installed, followed by beautiful reclaimed pine floorboards to match the rest of the floors in the property. The floor was then sanded and finished with Bona Prime Amber and Bona Mega Silk for a warm tone with a soft sheen.

We had the pleasure of working in this beautiful period property in Bristol ✨

A full project across multiple rooms from restoration to maintenance.

• Ground floor: fully sanded back to bare wood and refinished using a custom blend of Treatex Dark Oak and Chocolate, with clear matt top coats. The window seat was restored to match, tying everything together.

• Upper floors: over 100m² of existing oak flooring cleaned, abraded and recoated to bring it back to life without a full sand.

A mix of restoration and maintenance to keep everything looking its best while preserving the character of the property 🤎

Engineered oak flooring installation ✨

Beautiful fumed oak with white oil, bringing out the natural grain while keeping a soft, modern look.

Subfloor was fully ply-lined before a complete bonded installation, including steps, and finished off with new skirting boards for a clean, seamless result.
