Well done to Sandra Nurse-Foot, spot on guessing that the mallet is used on bulky seams. For some reason, and I'm not a physics person, bashing bulky seams with a mallet makes the fibres looser and easier to sew through. Fun fact for the week - you're welcome ☺️!

A fabulous bespoke bag for for a client who wanted me to use one of his designer silk ties in a cross body bag, but didn't want it to look like a tie. Used black jeans as main fabric. Quite pleased with the result 😀.
