This one was far more than just a repaint. The amount of preparation involved was huge, but as always, preparation is what makes the finish last.

🔨 Work carried out included:
Extensive wood resin repairs to save and retain rotten timber.

The entire bottom section of the rear porch was rebuilt using new timber to replace the old, failing wood.

All damaged areas were carefully filled, sanded and prepared before decorating.
The front and rear stained timber doors were thoroughly sanded back, primed and refinished in a modern Anthracite Grey, completely transforming the look of the property.

The garage door had years of failing paint and heavy flaking, so it was completely stripped back to the bare metal before being correctly primed and finished in the same Anthracite Grey for a durable, long-lasting finish.

All surrounding white woodwork was also prepared and redecorated to complete the fresh new look.
This project is a perfect example of why taking shortcuts never pays. There was a huge amount of preparation, timber replacement and woodcare before any topcoat went on, but the end result speaks for itself.

I'm after another decorator to help take on some upcoming work. There's potential for regular, ongoing work for the right person if they're reliable and the standard is there.

You'll need your own transport and tools, take pride in your work, and be able to work to a high standard. I'd also like to see some photos of previous jobs before making any decisions.

This project needed a huge amount of preparation before we could even think about applying the finishes. Quality decorating always starts with the prep, and this job was no exception.

🛋️ Front Room
Extensive preparation after some questionable plastering.
Removed all existing wallpaper.
Repaired large holes around plug sockets using bonding coat followed by fine filler to create a smooth surface ready for wallpaper.
Sanded all built-in cabinets back, stain blocked them, and finished with 4 coats of eggshell for a flawless finish.
Ceiling finished in AF1.
Customer-supplied wallpaper expertly hung.
All woodwork finished in durable eggshell.
Feature wall painted in a complementary colour to perfectly tie in with the wallpaper.

🍽️ Dining Room
Fresh plaster sealed and prepared.
Wallpaper hung throughout using the customer's chosen design.
All woodwork finished in eggshell.

🏡 Hallway
Although freshly plastered, it still required extensive preparation to achieve a high-quality finish.
All existing woodwork was fully sanded, primed where required, and finished with 2 coats of eggshell.
Ceiling finished in AF1.
Walls finished with 2 coats of Johnstone's Durable Matt, colour matched to Dulux Daffodil White.
The customer was absolutely over the moon with the finished result, and comments like that make all the hard work worthwhile! 🙌

Garage Door Transformation – Full Prep & Refinish
This garage door was heavily weathered with flaking and peeling paint, especially along the lower sections.
All loose paint was fully scraped back and sanded to create a solid surface, with any imperfections addressed before coating. The door was then finished in Zinsser AllCoat Exterior (white) for a durable, long-lasting finish.
The difference is huge—what was once tired and patchy is now clean, bright, and refreshed. Being connected to the house, it’s completely lifted the overall look of the property, making everything feel sharper and well maintained.

Full redecoration completed at Fit20 Norwich over the Easter weekend to avoid any disruption to customers 👌
Feature wall moved to the back of the gym, with all surfaces fully prepped due to peeling from a poor mist coat.
Grey taken back to white (5 coats needed) and finished in Crown White & Crown Clean Extreme Grey, with Zinsser AllCoat on all woodwork.
Fresh, durable and ready for daily use 💪

What a difference this hallway makes now 👌✨
We removed all the old wallpaper, carried out repairs to the walls underneath, and completely refreshed the space with this new finish — and you can really see the impact.
The hallway has gone from tired and dated to clean, bright, and full of character. The new wallpaper paired with the panelling adds depth and style, making the space feel more welcoming as soon as you walk through the door.
