That's it, all dropped off and ready to go!

The Grubs Up! Exhibition starts on the 15th and my demo day is on the 23rd.

During my demo day I'll be in the gallery talking about how I make silver lace, what it means to me to be a sustainable artist, and demonstrating how I take a design from sketch to its final form!

Exciting times ahead!

Tomorrow I'm dropping off this beauty to be part of the Grubs Up! Show in Danby.

Today I took it apart, cleaned it and added a tarnish deterrent so it looks as great as it can while it's displayed for the next couple of months.

I'll try and get some content of the beautiful moorland location tomorrow to show you all!

This piece is keeping a secret.

Well maybe two...the second secret is that I made this when I should have been preparing for the biggest exhibition of my career (so far), this is what happened when I should have been working through my inventory 😆

Ok third secret, I'm keeping it for myself because I'm so amazed I was able to use a saw I'm keeping it as a reminder that I can do hard things. Also that they don't need to be perfect or look like they were made by a machine.

It feels like yesterday but 5 years ago I couldn't even hold a pen to write (sometimes I still can't, but those times are very rare now and last minutes not months.) I couldn't use cutlery let alone crochet or do anything that came close to silversmithing.

What a wild ride this being human thing can be!

This beauty has a hidden pink circle, only visible when held up to the light.

When I first picked it and started to set it, I thought it was just white. When I put my magnifier and bright light on it, I saw a small flash of pink and changed the whole setting to show it off.

With only a few weeks until the Grubs Up exhibition at Danby, I've been busy finishing the final pieces for the gift shop to go alongside my sculpture.

I may be quiet on here but it's all going on!

If you read my stories from a few days ago, I talked about how much I was looking forward to getting back into my studio and putting my all into Twisted Fern this year.

Between a minor flood/leak and it needing to be used for storage, it hasn't been feasible to get back in there...but that doesn't mean I can't grab what I need and find a quiet corner of the house to set up a mini studio.

My conservatory is somehow the warmest room in the house and full of comfy chairs...and will be my micro studio until my real studio is accessible again.

Anyway, long story short, I'm back! 😆

Music: For those who know me in real life, you'll likely know I was lucky enough to see my favourite band for the first time last week. It was the most amazing experience and inspired me to get back to creating things I'd been putting off for so long.

So many thank yous! I loved my first market in Thirsk, it was so lovely to meet everyone and be so close to home!

I can't wait to do more markets in 2026!

Twisted Fern has really become more in the last couple of months than I could have imagined. I feel like I got a glimpse of what it could be if I really put my all into it and that gives me butterflies to think about!

This is only the beginning and I couldn't be more excited for whatever is next!

Sometimes December gets a lot and you have to run away to Switzerland to see the mountains.

You can't keep running so you also have to keep crocheting for when you inevitably have to go home and get ready for the next market on the 21st.

After one more stop in Italy for all the vegan pizza I can eat, I'll be ready to head back home and tackle whatever the rest of 2025 has in store for me!

Turns out I said sustainable a lot in this...I'm an eco company that is my current, and only valid, excuse of choice.

Anyway, enjoy this cringe voiceover. I'm working up to speaking on camera so you have even more cringe to look forward to!

My next market is on the 21st in Thirsk, and I can't wait to see you all there!
