Very excited for the annual trip to Country2Country this weekend!

Not sure why I haven't done a country collection before but now seems like a good time to release the first of my new designs into the world!

I need some help though, I can't decide which is my favourite!

Hello! Welcome! I'm Ali, the person behind the brand! ☺️👋

Alison Jane Designs was initially born out of the need for somewhere to channel my creativity, but it's blossomed into an actual real life little business and sometimes people actually want to buy the things I make! If you are one of those people, I am SO grateful 🥰 Swipe to see a selection of the sorts of things that keep me busy!

Things have changed a bit since I started this account in 2016 (!) but even bigger changes are on their way in 2025 so stick around to see them!

Facts about me:

🦇 I am a full-time ecologist by day (and sometimes night) which basically means I get to wander around the countryside for a living (though it's rarely as picturesque as it sounds)!

🧠 I was diagnosed with ADHD last year which has been the most eye-opening experience and resulted in a lot of "ohh that makes so much sense" moments.

🤠 I have loved country music for years and I'm very happy that it's fashionable right now... just as long as all these people aren't going to be stealing my concert tickets! But do keep your eyes peeled for some new things coming to my shop very soon 👀

🎨 I am self-taught and have learnt so many things as a result of starting this business journey! Calligraphy, digital illustration, Photoshop, Illustrator, website design, branding, SEO, product creation... The list really does go on!

🐕 I love all animals and they do somewhat seem to gravitate to me. Special mention though goes to who is the perfect mascot and keeps me company when I'm engrossed in a drawing and stay up far too late (much to his annoyance).

Happy 1st Etsy order of February!

I've been lucky to have had a tiny flurry of orders since 2025 began so thank you to anyone who has bought from my little shop ☺️

I'm not very good at sharing what I do, as me hunched over a screen under a blanket on my sofa is quite the sight and not something social media needs to see 😂 but I do appreciate when all the hunching results in people actually wanting to buy the things I make! It's still crazy to me that that's the case! 🥰

And seeing as I haven't said it on here yet, happy 2025 from a sunshiney February after the gloom that was January! ☀️

Happy Neurodiversity Celebration Week!

It felt like a good time to post this, but still, please be gentle!

Around a month ago I was diagnosed with ADHD (and boy has it been a journey).

I didn't have space to write everything I wanted to in this caption so please swipe above to read if you're interested in hearing more.

In short, wow, it's a relief to have my suspicions confirmed and it really does explain a LOT. I would also say that I'm almost the opposite to the stereotypical version of ADHD that I knew of growing up, so if this helps raise awareness of the other ways it can present, then sharing this can only be a good thing. Right!?

I'm very much the same person, so no need to tread carefully around me or anything (I actually quite like talking about it) I just have a bit of a better understanding of how my brain works now and I'm seeing if there are things I can do to help it rather than hide it! ☺️

(For those who aren't aware, the rainbow butterfly infinity symbol is adopted by some as a symbol for ADHD, and sunflowers are more widely known as the symbol for hidden 'disabilities', whatever that term means for you 🥰)

Happy Friday!

I'm very late to this, but I finally finished my version of this for the challenge by !

This scene was too cute to pass up and the idea for my version popped into my head immediately!

AlsoI don't often draw full scenes so it was fun to spend some more time filling in all the little background details!

And of course, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to draw a character with curly hair now could I!? 😊

I've just seen that it's Love Your Pet day!

Couldn't miss out on this one as I honestly am not sure how we used to do life without this ridiculous fluff ball!

This is Obi (short for Obi-Wan or Obearon depending on if you're talking to me or my husband). He's now 3 and a half, which is crazy, and has the biggest personality I've ever known a dog to have 😂

I drew this originally for our wedding in 2022 because we knew he had to feature there, and whilst we would have loved for him to actually be there, he had a much better time on his holidays! Swipe for the little ways he made it in though!

Oh and of course his Instagram () is the one that's the most popular out of all of us 😅

Did you know that it's World Whale Day today!?

This is the first of two name-tag stickers made as Christmas presents for two very special, but pretty different, girls ☺️ Poppy has loved whale sharks since seeing Destiny in Finding Dory (great film by the way) and wants to be a marine biologist when she grows up 🥰

Now, I know, I know, this is technically a whale shark rather than a true whale... But it seemed like a good time to post it anyway as the whole theme of World Whale Day is to raise awareness for the threatened species of our seas and oceans, and these majestic creatures are endangered on the IUCN red list and their numbers are declining due to bad tourism practices, climate change and both legal and illegal fishing 😢
