Following some success at the Caithness County Show I’ve decided to put a piece of textile art into the Caithness Artists Exhibition.

I haven’t posted on this page for a long time, so I have a lot of photos of ‘makes’ to add over time.

Everything I make is bespoke and unique so I don’t have ‘stock’. However, if you see something you like, I can always create something for you.

Had a fantastic experience at this place “Dornk Excursion Farm”. Stopped for fresh juice and ended up spending 2 hours talking with Monika and her family.
Two huge farm buildings full of collections of embroidery by her talented mum, an ethnographic museum and a whole building of nativity scenes.
It was amazing to see all the work gone into it over years.
Then - Monika took us into her home to meet her family and see their traditional “black kitchen”.
Her mum is a wealth of talent and handcraft experiences and gave me useful advice.
We left feeling like old friends and I know we will go back.

So many beautiful examples of handcrafted items by a very talented lady.

Saw this fabric and just couldn’t resist. 🐑
Could be a sheepy lining or a little purse (lot of little purses - there was only 2+ metres left on the bolt, so I had to get it all!!!)etc etc.
Also added a bag of toy stuffing to my purchase so that the ‘coo’ can come to life in Slovenia.

Despite being on holiday, I have managed to begin making a highland coo. Got some pretty strange looks crocheting whilst having a coffee.
