INFO:- Re these glossy leaflets + online adverts for precious metals. I decided to turn in old gold cufflinks and odd broken silver ie not the good stuff worth money as antiques. The gold buyers price for the same weight differed between £450 and £1600 (Bullion by Post) so no guessing where I went. The silver also varied for the same weight between £100 and £358 (same company) The odd one was old rubbed coins made after 1921 (before that solid silver) and pre 1947, again online sellers varied . Due to politics and wars the metal prices are stupidly high it can be broken, squashed etc but any non gold or non silver would be removed before giving you a fixed price by email or phone in my case two charms on a bracelet. Minimum is 10g for gold so before you sell to a third party sort the back of the drawers and sell direct. MAKE sure you weigh first (post office or kitchen scales ??) and they will return if the price is wrong and always double check . The company I chose actually makes jewellery in Birmingham so gets metals to recycle. . . . This is being posted after a local person called into my shop as they sent a chunk of gold to a leaflet address and got back a fraction. I had not the heart to say ouch !

The joys of Meissen. . . reminded me why I always avoid pots n crocks for the shop. Checking for restoration then adding fetching pink arrows to inform and getting braced for the ' best offer brigade'. If trade yes I discount and yes I post included in a price and if needed to inspect say in advance as at home away from clumsy customers. . . one pair is perfection in gilding and everything. The Derby Welch Tailor pr have been abused but restored
